Meet Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla — accidental international comedy superstars.

Ten years ago, the Internet-famous duo behind Smosh were teens hanging out in the Sacramento suburbs making funny videos and song parodies just for the hell of it, and sharing them with friends on this new site called YouTube.

Today, Smosh is a multimillion-dollar enterprise, counting more than 30 million subscribers across its six YouTube channels, and encompassing merchandise, comics and game apps. The guys are on the vanguard of a trend Hollywood is eyeing closely: They’re starring in “Smosh: The Movie,” a slapstick-y caper in which Hecox and Padilla teleport into different YouTubers’ channels in a quest to delete an embarrassing video of Anthony. YouTube Stars Jenn McAllister, Lauren Luthringshausen’s ‘Bad Night’ Gets Release
Grb Entertainment has set a July 21 release for its first film, teen comedy “Bad Night,” with YouTube stars Lauren Luthringshausen and Jenn McAllister, Variety has learned exclusively.

Bad Night” will be released through Vimeo on Demand. The cast includes Matt Walsh (“Veep”), June Diane Raphael (“Grace & Frankie”), Adam Pally (“The Mindy Project”), Jack McBrayer, Molly Ringwald and Casey Wilson (“SNL”).

Luthringshausen and McAllister play high school students who are mistaken for famous art thieves after getting into the wrong car during a field trip. The duo — better known online as LoveLaurenElizabeth and JennXPenn — has nearly 3 million YouTube subscribers and over 4 million followers on their social media platforms.

Chris and Nick Riedell directed from Daniel Kinno’s script. A.J. Tesler produced with Luthringshausen and McAllister. Grb president Gary R. Benz and Michael Branton are the exec producers.

Production Company Grb Entertainment Shops ‘Camp Takota’ Worldwide

In February 2014, Camp Takota became available for digital download. Since then, the feature film led by YouTube stars Mamrie Hart, Grace Helbig, and Hannah Hart has been purchased several hundred thousand times. Now, a production company with an interest in digital stars is looking to add to the film's popularity. Grb Entertainment has announced it will shop Camp Takota internationally at Miptv.

Miptv, which occurs each year in Cannes, France, is one of the largest annual markets of TV and digital content. The 2015 edition runs between April 13-16. Grb Entertainment, which has aired its shows in Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Japan, will use the event to search for international distributors for Camp Takota, which stars its three leads as friends who reunite at their former summer camp.

‘Intervention’ Revived for New Season on Lmn
Intervention” is coming back.

The show has been revived for a 14th season by A+E Networks group sibling Lmn, the network announced Monday. It previously ran on A&E for 13 seasons before getting canceled last year.

The docuseries profiled those who were brought the the brink by an addiction to drugs, alcohol or compulsive behavior and documented the ensuing intervention. It won an Emmy in 2009 for outstanding reality program.

“Over the course of 13 seasons on A&E, Intervention wove itself into the fabric of pop culture and brought global awareness to addiction and treatment options,” Fyi & Lmn president Jana Bennett said in a statement. “The stories profiled on this series are profoundly powerful, and we are proud to continue it on Lmn.”

Original interventionists Jeff Van Vonderen and Candy Finnigan are set to return. It will be produced by the original producers, Grb Entertainment. Production will begin this summer,

A&E Cancels ‘Intervention’ Reality Series

After 13 seasons, A&E‘s Intervention is coming to an end. The final five episodes of the Emmy-winning series will air beginning Thursday, June 13 at 9 Pm, the network announced today. Intervention brings attention to the social, economic and environmental cost of drug addiction, alcohol abuse and compulsive behavior. Each episode follows addicts through their daily life and the devastation their dependency has brought to their family and friends. Upon reaching the brink, their loved ones stage a surprise intervention conducted by one of four specialists. In the end, they are pushed to get the help they need with the hope of turning their lives around before it’s too late. Intervention is produced by Grb Entertainment for A&E Network. Gary Benz, Michael Branton and Dan Partland are executive producers. Sam Mettler is executive consultant. A&E executive producers are David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Holcman.

TCA: A&E Orders 'Intervention' Spinoff Series

A&E Network has started production on Relapse, a new docu reality series from the producers of the network's Emmy-winning Intervention. It will follow sober coaches as they do whatever it takes to help high-risk addicts break the cycle of relapse and addiction.
