Brother of actress Daisy Belmore.
Stocky, beetle-browed, white-haired British character actor, on Broadway from 1899 and in American films from 1914. He also directed several shorts between 1914 and 1918. During the 1930's, Belmont was gainfully employed in Hollywood as English butlers, innkeepers, lairds, burgomasters and town elders.
Father: George Belmore; Mother: Alice Cooke. Both were performers.
Character actor on stage and in US films of the 20's and 30's.
