See Billy Elliot Actor Flirt With Nazism in ‘Skin’ Trailer
Jamie Bell, who once played the adorable little Billy Elliot who only wanted to dance ballet, flirts with becoming a neo-Nazi in the upcoming film Skin. In a trailer for the film, Bell has covered his face with tattoos and struggles with his identity — racial and otherwise — as he talks to both a bearded supremacist and an African American who offers to help him. “What if I take all this stuff off and I’m still a piece of shit?” he asks himself at one point. Potential Oscar Contenders of Cannes 2019 Include ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ and Isabelle Huppert
As usual, the Cannes Film Festival’s official selection is a mix of brainy competition auteurs, star power, and the lucky handful of players who might — if everything plays out as hoped — return to North America as Oscar contenders. You know that while “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is conspicuously missing in action from Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux’s official selection announcement, he wants nothing more (especially with a lineup short on red-carpet players) than to have Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and the festival’s favorite filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino, walk upstairs to the Grand Palais.

But for studio executives, whose priority is covering their bottom-line bets, the risks of going to Cannes often outweigh the gains. Last year, A24 indulged Cannes discovery David Robert Mitchell’s desire to be included in the prestigious Cannes Competition and wound up with “Under the Silver Lake” not only

First Official Trailer for Guy Nattiv's Feature Film 'Skin' with Jamie Bell

"Is it true what Desi said - that you're an evil man?" A24 has debuted an official trailer for an indie feature titled Skin, the next feature-length film from Israeli director Guy Nattiv. The title of this, Skin, is also the title of the controversial short film that won Nattiv and co-writer Sharon Maymon an Oscar (for live-action short film) earlier this year. It's not the same story, but similar. This is Guy Nattiv's first English-language feature telling a "galvanizing story of transformation, inspired by actual events." Jamie Bell stars as Bryon, a destitute young man raised by racist skinheads and notorious among white supremacists. He decides to turn his back on hatred and violence to transform his life. With the help of the FBI, he undergoes 25 brutal tattoo removal surgeries in exchange for decoding the tattoos. The cast includes Danielle Macdonald, Vera Farmiga, Daniel Henshall, Louisa Krause, & Bill Camp.

‘Skin’ Trailer: Skinhead Jamie Bell Wants His ‘American History X’

‘Skin’ Trailer: Skinhead Jamie Bell Wants His ‘American History X’
After winning the Oscar earlier this year for Best Live Action Short, Israeli filmmaker Guy Nattiv makes his English-language feature debut this May. Under the same title as the award-winning short, “Skin” follows an American neo-Nazi skinhead who turns informant on his white supremacist cohort. The newly released first trailer offers a glimpse of “Billy Elliot” star Jamie Bell in a far different look from his breakthrough role; he dons a smattering of face tattoos and, of course, a shiny bald buzz.

The official synopsis reads: “After a difficult childhood drives him into the grasps of a white supremacist gang, Bryon (Bell) tries to escape to a new life, all the while questioning whether he’s capable of undoing — and repenting for — the evil he’s done.”

“Skin” promises another interesting turn for Danielle Macdonald, breakout star of 2017’s “Patti Cake$.” She plays Bryon’s girlfriend, a single mother

Elton John Calls ‘Rocketman’ Biopic as ‘Honest as Possible’ (Video)

Elton John Calls ‘Rocketman’ Biopic as ‘Honest as Possible’ (Video)
In the previous look we had at “Rocketman,” director Dexter Fletcher assured us that Elton John wanted Taron Egerton to play him in the biopic on his life. But in this latest featurette, we get to hear it from the Rocketman himself.

“It had to be as honest as possible. The lows were very low, but the highs were very high, and that’s how I wanted the film to be,” the real Elton John says in the new promo video for the film.

Perhaps as an answer to the criticisms of Fox’s wildly successful Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the promos for “Rocketman” have demonstrated first that its star Egerton is himself singing John’s classic tunes, but also that the film is striving for accuracy.

Jamie Bell Portrays a Neo-Nazi in First Trailer for Guy Nattiv’s ‘Skin’

He picked up an Academy Award this year for his short film Skin, but before that, Guy Nattiv premiered his feature-length film of the same name at Toronto International Film Festival last fall. Starring Jamie Bell, Danielle Macdonald, Vera Farmiga, and Bill Camp, the story of a white supremacist dealing with the shame of his actioins was picked up by A24 for a release this summer and now the first trailer has landed.

Jared Mobarak said in our Tiff review, “Bryon ‘Babs’ Widner (Jamie Bell) hears the buzz of a faulty electrical connection, triggering a transition to an operating table and screams as the tattoos covering most of his body start being removed. It’s a soundscape that’ll have you squirming in your seat, the close-up shots of scar tissue replacing ink as physical a transformation as the act is metaphorical. Because the art adorning his face, neck, and

‘Skin’ Trailer: Jamie Bell Plays A Hateful White Supremacist For Oscar-Winner Guy Nattiv

Ever since he was a child actor Jamie Bell has proven himself to be a dynamic performer. Since “Billy Elliot,” Bell has been bouncing from genre to genre, becoming an underrated talent in the process. But now, he has tackled what is perhaps his darkest role to date in something that sounds relevant and a little bit like “American History X.”

In the upcoming biopic “Skin,” Bell plays Bryon Widner, a young man raised by skinheads, brought up to have hateful beliefs and marking up his body with racist tattoos by the age of 14.

‘Skin’ Trailer: Jamie Bell Stars As Conflicted White Supremacist Seeking Redemption
“Guys like this only have three options: Die young, life in prison or they start talkin’.” The subjects of that quote are white supremacists, and Guy Nattiv’s Skin studies one such conflicted soul. Watch the first trailer above.

Israel native Nattiv wrote and directed the film in his English-language debut. (It’s different from his short film of the same title that won the Oscar in February.) Teen Spirit: Elle Fanning Reveals How She Found Her Singing Voice

David Crow Apr 16, 2019

Elle Fanning, Max Minghella, and Jamie Bell talk their new pop music fantasia, Teen Spirit, and practicing to belt with a Polish accent.

It is the pivotal moment of Teen Spirit, a new pop music coming-of-age fantasia, when Elle Fanning pick up the mic and begins to croon Ellie Goulding. Yet this type of musical expression is one the real-life actor can always recall chasing. And considering during our interview she remembers an audition from when she was four-years-old, that memory stretches pretty far back.

It was during last month’s SXSW Film Festival when Fanning, as well as writer-director Max Minghella and executive producer Jamie Bell, reminisced about their musical pasts, plus their future with the impending release of Teen Spirit. For her part, Fanning says she always loved to sing, even while running around the house and humming to herself.

“I did gospel choir in school,
