He started in the industry as a film editor working on commercials, then going on to direct documentaries including 'Genghis Khan' and the RTS award winning 'Great Britons: Brunel'. Before embarking on his television career Ed was lead guitarist in The Vapors who had a global hit with their song 'Turning Japanese'.
