MARC L. BAILIN, is a founder/senior partner of Rubin & Bailin, LLP and has been engaged in the practice of entertainment, media, corporate and real estate law in New York and California for forty-one years. In addition to his activities as senior partner of Rubin & Bailin, LLP, Mr. Bailin was also the Director and Co-Owner/Founder of Virtu Management Group Ltd., a business management concern which handles the business and financial affairs for a host of leading motion picture, recording industry, prime-time television and day-time television personalities. Mr. Bailin received a B.A. from Yale University; an M.B.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and attended New York University and Boston University Schools of Law (J.D.).
Mr. Bailin's clients have included actress Meg Ryan ("When Harry Met Sally"; "Sleepless in Seattle"; "City of Angels"; "You've Got Mail"; "Hanging Up", "Proof of Life", Kate & Leopold" ), Oscar winning actress Julianne Moore ("Still Alice", "The Hours", "Far From Heaven", "Hannibal", "Shipping News", Magnolia", "Boogie Nights"), actor/musician L.L. Cool J. ("NCIS: Los Angeles", "Mindhunters", "Rollerball", "Deep Blue Sea"), best-selling author and video star, Callan Pinckney ("Callanetics"), playwright Richard Greenberg ("Take Me Out") and others. Mr. Bailin served as General Counsel and line production counsel to Pangolin Pictures, Inc., the award winning documentary television production house. Mr. Bailin also served as General Counsel to Lancit Media Entertainment Ltd., the Emmy award winning producer of the "Reading Rainbow" series and was Lancit's legal advisor in connection with the production of "Ramona Q", a co-production of Lancit Media Productions, Atlantis Films (Canada) and Revcom Television (France). Mr. Bailin also served as the line-production attorney for the "Reading Rainbow" Children's Television Series for the entire fifteen year history of the Series' run on the PBS television network and also served as Lancit Media's line-production attorney on "The Puzzle Place", the highly acclaimed PBS pre-school series co-produced with KCET-Los Angeles. Mr. Bailin has also served as the Executive in Charge of Production for the "Callanetics" series of videocassettes released by MCA Home Video, all of which videos have been accorded "Platinum" sales status and have been ranked number one by Billboard magazine, a leading industry publication. Mr. Bailin has also represented significant licensing, publishing and media related activities for the widely syndicated cartoonist, Gary Larson ("The Far Side").

Mr. Bailin has also acted as agent/representative for a number of network news producers on programs including "Dateline" (NBC), "The Early Show with Bryant Gumble" (CBS), "Good Morning America" (ABC) and Court TV Network.
Mr. Bailin also served as Plaintiff's Expert Witness in Peggy Lee v. The Walt Disney Company (the so-called "Lady And The Tramp Case") resulting in a multi-million dollar jury verdict for the Plaintiff.
He has also served as the Executive Producer and line production attorney of a series of action oriented feature films, including "Hangmen" (with Sandra Bullock), "Covert Action", "Blue Vengeance", "Mob War", "Shock Troop" (with Danny Aiello), "Comrades In Arms" (with Lance Henriksen and Lyle Alzado), "The Outfit" (with Billy Drago, Lance Henriksen and Martin Kove), "Backfire" (with Kathy Ireland and Robert Mitchum) and "A Modern Affair" (with Lisa Eichorn and Stanley Tucci).
Mr. Bailin was first engaged in the entertainment industry as the Legal Assistant to the Senior Vice President - General Counsel for Warner Communications (then parent company of Warner Bros. Pictures and the WEA Record Group) in New York City. From 1976 to 1980 Mr. Bailin was an associate attorney with the New York law firm of Beldock, Levine & Hoffman. The firm's clients included major recording artists such as "The Who", "Yes", "Peter Frampton", "Willie Nelson", "Waylon Jennings", "Roberta Flack" and many other important music industry figures. The firm also handled the corporate entertainment industry legal affairs for such firms as Island Records, Premier Talent (a leading rock and roll booking agency) and Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video (creators and producers of "Saturday Night Live").
In 1980, Mr. Bailin co-founded the New York law firm of Jacobson & Bailin, whose clients included the J. Michael Bloom Talent Agency, Helen Slater ("Supergirl"), Tom Wopat ("The Dukes of Hazzard"), Andy McDowell ("Sex, Lies & Videotapes"), among others.
In addition to his work as an entertainment and corporate attorney, Mr. Bailin is a co-founder and co-manager of W Financial Fund, LP, a bridge lending fund which provides special situation short- term financing for the commercial real estate industry with more than $300,000,000 under management.( www.w-financial.com). Mr. Bailin's current real estate development project is The Villages at Aina Le'a, a 1,100 acre mixed use project on Hawaii's "Big Island".( www.ainaleahi.com) The project is being developed by DW Aina Lea Development, LLC of which Mr. Bailin is a principal shareholder. Mr. Bailin is a New York State Licensed Real Estate Broker.
Mr. Bailin is also a member of the Advisory Board of Share The Caregiving, Inc. an organization devoted to assisting people in forming support groups to assist in the care of the terminally ill. Since 2000, he has also been a member of the Board of Directors of New York City Industries for the Blind, Inc., (www.nycib.org), a not-for-profit manufacturing facility dedicated to providing employment to blind and partially sighted workers and since 2013 has served on the Board of Directors of Alphapointe, the successor to NYCIB (www.alphapointe.org).
