Cinematic Titanic Riffs on The Astral Factor Saturday at The St. Charles Family Arena

Cinematic Titanic is the live movie riffing show from the creator and original cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and they’re bringing their show to St. Louis this Saturday October 12th for what they’re calling their ‘Farewell Tour’ which I guess means this is the last time you’ll be able to see these guys riff on movies. Like MST3K, the show was created by Joel Hodgson and features the same team that first brought the Peabody award winning cult-classic series to life: Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester), J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV’s Frank), and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester), Cinematic Titanic continues the tradition of riffing on ‘the unfathomable’, ‘the horribly great’, and the just plain ‘cheesy’ movies from the past.

Four years ago when Cinematic Titanic came to the St. Louis area’s St. Charles Family Arena, they riffed on

Found Footage "Bigfoot" Horror Has Potential But Gets Lost in the Woods

For anyone who doesn’t believe in ghosts and witches but wants a found footage horror film that can appeal to their curiosity or sense of fear, then Director Corey Grant’s Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes is probably more your speed. Taking the same route as Steven Spielberg’s Jaws in the belief that showing less is more, The Lost Coast Tapes tells the story of four ambitious TV producers hoping to make a hit series out of an old man in northern California who claims to have a corpse of a young Bigfoot. For the most part, The Lost Coast Tapes succeeds in its use of mysterious howls, strange happenings, and brief glimpses of gigantic hairy beasts to create a thrilling mystery as to whether or not the whole thing is real or if the old man is just scamming them out of their money. Unfortunately, it loses

Exclusive: Corey Grant Talks Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes

Corey Grant Talks Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes, in select theaters Friday, October 19th

It's been a while since Bigfoot graced us with his presence at the local Cineplex, but that's all about to change as two different "found footage" thrillers starring the elusive creature make their way to the big screen. Lionsgate's Bigfoot County is a little ways away, which means that director Corey Grant has the upper hand. His Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes is opening in select theaters this Friday, October 19th, and as history proves, the first movie to the market is almost always the winner.

It's a great film to boot, especially for bigfoot enthusiast such as Corey Grant and myself. The Lost Coast Tapes follows a disgraced investigative journalist who sets out expose the body of a Sasquatch hiding in a local man's freezer. What happens next is completely bonkers. Trust us, if you

Director Corey Grant Talks Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes

Corey Grant is an African-American director with such titles as Hip-Hop Task Force and its follow-up, Studio, on his resume. Stereotypically speaking, he's not your typical horror director.

But this fearless filmmaker recently trekked to Northern California with his crew and brought back Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes, which opens this Friday, October 19th.

"It's about a disgraced television host who was hoaxed by a fictional UFO story on a previous show, and it killed his career," Grant said in describing Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes. "Now he stages his comeback when he finds out there is a Bigfoot hunter who supposedly has an image of Bigfoot. So he figures he can do a show, but this time do it about people who pull hoaxes. Then he can bring his career back. So, of course, they travel up to Northern California to find this Bigfoot hunter, but when they get up there,

The Lost Coast Tapes DVD Review

Director: Corey Grant

Starring: Drew Rausch, Ashley Wood, Rich McDonald, Noah Weisberg, Frank Ashmore

Running Time: 95 Mins

Certificate: 18.

Synopsis: A budding TV journalist and his crew set out to the lost coast of North California to meet a man who claims to possess the body of a dead Sasquatch, and in doing so, disprove the existence of Bigfoot. But what they discover may be more then just a simple hoax…

Another month, another ‘found footage’ movie. Until now, the genre has mostly seen dedicated (i.e. idiotic) folks, armed with recording devices, going off in search of witches, ghosts, zombies, and even trolls, only to be horribly killed. Now it’s the turn of the elusive Bigfoot to get some shaky-cam screen-time. Except…well, he doesn’t…

And thus we have the fundamental flaw with The Lost Coast Tapes – we see nothing! Now I know some people will say that’s way more scary,
