In 2002, Asai underwent arm surgery which allowed him to return to wrestling. He signed with WWE in 2003 fulfilling two life long goals of wrestling at Madison Square Garden and WrestleMania. His contract expired in 2004 which he left on good terms. Asai now works for CMLL in Mexico City and also runs Ultimo Dragon Gym which brings Japanese wrestlers into Mexico City to train Lucha Libre.
