Allan Arbus was born on February 15, 1918 in New York City, New York, USA as Allan Franklin Arbus. He was an actor, known for M*A*S*H (1972), Coffy (1973) and Working Stiffs (1979). He was married to Mariclare Costello and Diane Nemerov. He died on April 19, 2013 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Former brother-in-law of poet laureate Howard Nemerov.
Father of photographer Amy Arbus and writer/art director Doon Arbus.
He had an advertising photography business with his first wife, Diane Arbus, in the 1950s. Based in New York City, they shot both local and national ad campaigns.
His first wife, Diane Arbus (nee Nemerov), was a well-known photographer. They separated in 1959 and divorced a few years later. She committed suicide on July 26, 1971. She is the subject of the film Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006).
Known for his recurring role of psychiatrist Dr. Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H (1972).
Attended DeWitt Clinton High School and City College in New York.
His first job was in Russek's Department Store, where he met his first wife, Diane Nemerov.
He was cremated and his ashes given to his family.
Mr Arbus' wife - who's name was (originally) 'Nemerov', became known as photographer Diane Arbus, but, for technical reasons, the listing of her married name, here isn't possible.
