- Arguably the most well-known and sought-after fight choreographer
- While rehearsing a duel on location in Sicily, he accidentally cut Errol Flynn's thigh. Flynn immediately admitted it was his mistake but, for a time, Anderson was known as "the man who stabbed Errol Flynn".
- Is arguably the most legendary of sword-fight trainers/choreographers, having trained everyone from Errol Flynn to the cast of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
- Doubled for David Prowse during Darth Vader's light saber duels in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), despite having been six inches shorter than Prowse and required to wear lifts.
- During a recorded interview for "The Two Towers", he stated that the best swordsman he ever trained was Viggo Mortenson.
- In The Master of Ballantrae (1953) he doubled for both actors in a sword fight and therefore "killed" himself.
