Zoë Kravitz Throws Major Shade at Lily Allen: "She Attacked Me"

Zoë Kravitz Throws Major Shade at Lily Allen:
Zoë Kravitz and Eddie Redmayne had a blast appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen Tuesday to promote their new blockbuster, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. But things took a turn when a fan called in to ask her a non-film related question. "Did Lily Allen warn you that she was going to write about the two of you kissing in her autobiography?" a female fan asked Kravitz over the phone. "And how did that come about?" With a sour look on her face, Kravitz replied, "Who's Lily Allen?" Andy Cohen was living the shade, saying, "I guess she didn't warn you." "If by 'kissing' she means, like, attacking, then yes,...

An Amy Winehouse Biopic Is Officially in the Works - Here's What We Know
Rumors of an Amy Winehouse biopic have swirled for years, with one even going so far as to cast Noomi Rapace as the late singer. None of the prospective projects has ever managed to get off the ground following her 2011 death, though, until now - according to The Guardian, the "Back to Black" singer's family has officially signed a deal for her life story to be adapted for the screen.

Monumental Pictures' Alison Owen - aka mother to singer Lily Allen and Game of Thrones alum Alfie Allen - is teaming up with Debra Hayward to produce the film, while Kinky Boots writer Geoff Deane is set to adapt the major moments in Winehouse's life. Winehouse's family is also on board to act as executive producers, with proceeds from the film going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people suffering from addiction. Hookers, Drugs and Depression: How Lily Allen Is Finally Coming to Terms With Her Past

Hookers, Drugs and Depression: How Lily Allen Is Finally Coming to Terms With Her Past
There was a time when Lily Allen seemed to have it all. She was 21 when she first burst onto the music scene. Brimming with talent, confidence and a F-You attitude, she was a pop fan's dream. Sure, there were the occasional headlines about her party-loving antics that accompanied her rise up the charts, but it was nothing we hadn't come to expect from other celebrities who got famous fast; they live fast as well. But then after three albums, Allen disappeared. She got married, had children, dabbled in a clothing business and seemed to shun the attention she once basked in. You'd be forgiven for thinking she had chosen domestic bliss over chart domination. And who could blame her? After a string of...

Hear Lily Allen’s Soulful Cover of Tears for Fears’ ‘Mad World’

Hear Lily Allen’s Soulful Cover of Tears for Fears’ ‘Mad World’
Lily Allen offered a soulful spin on Tears for Fears’ 1983 single “Mad World” in a new cover version recorded for Spotify’s Singles series.

The British pop singer stripped back the song to vocals and a mournful piano part, recalling the bare-bones aesthetic of the rendition that Gary Jules and Michael Andrews recorded for the 2001 fantasy film Donnie Darko. Allen paired the tune with a similarly raw take on “Family Man,” which appears on her recently issued fourth LP, No Shame.

The Spotify single arrives days before Allen’s first

‘Harry Potter’ at 20: Artists Reveal Tattoos, Tears, Tour Stories Inspired by the Wizarding World

Led Zeppelin had Tolkien. Metallica had Lovecraft. But Snail Mail, Dua Lipa, Taking Back Sunday, Why Don’t We, Hanson, and countless others have J.K. Rowling, and her story of the boy with a lightning-shaped scar.

Released in the United States 20 years ago, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone began the seven-book saga with a loud, hairy giant bursting into suburbia — not unlike a certain Twisted Sister video — to rescue a neglected boy from his oppressive relatives, bringing him into a magical new realm. Rowling’s books captivated readers globally and,

‘Anne With an E’ Season 2 Trailer: Return to Green Gables Hints of Heartache and Gilbert’s New Adventure (Exclusive)

[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from the first season of “Anne With an E,” including the finale.]

Kindred spirits and bosom friends, welcome back to Green Gables. The Netflix series “Anne With an E” returns for its second season this July, the streaming service announced on Friday.

For those who remember how Season 1 ended, however, the most immediate concern is the safety and fortunes of the Cuthberts. When we left them in the finale, two shady men that had mugged their hired hand Jerry (Aymeric Jett Montaz) earlier in town are seen at Green Gables. Responding to an ad that Marilla (Geraldine James) had placed to look for boarders, each of the men arrived separately pretending to not know each other for purposes that could only be nefarious. Green Gables had been falling on hard times as it is, and this did not bode well for Marilla, brother Matthew (R.H. Thomson), their adoptee Anne (Amybeth McNulty) or her sunny disposition.

Fortunately, in the trailer for Season 2 below,

Album Review: Lily Allen’s ‘No Shame’

Album Review: Lily Allen’s ‘No Shame’
This late into the age of confessional songwriting, when even the most bubblegum of artists trouble the Top 40 with Tmi, it’s rare to find an album that can startle you with its cat-out-of-the-bag bluntness. But you get a whole lot of those “Wait, rewind that” moments in Lily Allen’s “No Shame,” a collection whose promising title only hints at the embarrassment and brazenness within. It’s as raw a record as you’ll hear this year, even if the British singer’s calm tone and heavily programmed production are the picture of pop refinement. Her sweet voice has always been Allen’s not-too-secret ammo, weaponized to take down the fools she didn’t suffer gladly. Hearing her now turn that tart, dulcet dagger of a tongue around on herself makes for a bracing listen.

Probably two-thirds of the tracks have to do with the marital split since her last album,

Concert Review: Lily Allen Debuts Forthcoming Divorce Album and It’s One for the Ages

Concert Review: Lily Allen Debuts Forthcoming Divorce Album and It’s One for the Ages
There are divorce albums, and then there are Divorce Albums. Lily Allen’s upcoming record, “No Shame,” belongs to the latter, more emphatically capitalized category of post-split confessional songwriting. A teaser show Wednesday night at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre was designed primarily as a showcase to preview 12 of the 14 tracks from the impending June 8 release, which implicitly made it, yes, a divorce show — a subject she didn’t shy away from in any of her introductory comments. For anyone who’s a fan of Allen and/or diaristic pop, it was pretty riveting stuff.

But how would these sometimes sobering songs befit a pop songstress who’s often been better than just about anybody at combining brainy and acrid with the happy-go-lucky end of brazenness? Suffice it to say that there remained a good amount of smiling and even giggling, although it wasn’t always clear whether that was out of nerviness or nervousness.
