Brother of actor Bradley Bolke.

Catchphrase: "Why not?", always delivered with a somewhat manic expression and finger pointed in the air for emphasis.

Best known for the voices of Deputy Dawg, the grumpy marionette Phineas T. Bluster in the Howdy Doody Show and the magpies Heckle and Jeckle.
Was one of the Man in the Street characters on The Steve Allen Plymouth Show (1956) Tom Poston, Louis Nye and Don Knotts. He talked in an odd slurry voice. He once explained, "An artist friend of mine used to paint pictures of children, without ever having seen one.".
Played Ugly Sam on Howdy Doody. "Ugly" to him was a compliment. He came onstage dressed like a caveman and said "Hello ugly Buffalo", then turned to the Peanut Gallery and said " hello ugly Peanuts".
