Mammootty to star in Mollywood's first 'game thriller'?

Mollywood The big budget film is reportedly the first 'game thriller', with elements of gaming, in the history of Malayalam cinema. Digital NativeDeen Dennis, son of veteran script writer Kaloor Dennis, is all set to make his debut as director. And his first directorial will feature the Mollywood mega star Mammootty in the lead role. Deen Dennis had narrated the script to Mammootty recently. Impressed by it, the star had not only given his go ahead but also suggested that he should take up the director’s mantle as well. The big budget film, which has not been titled yet, will be the first ever game thriller in the history of Malayalam cinema and this has created a hype around this project; especially among the Mammootty fans. In the film, we hear that Mammootty plays the role of a 39-year-old guy named Vinod Menon. Being a game thriller, it will have several mysteries to be unravelled and that will give the audiences some edge-of-the-seat moments, say sources. The team is currently busy with the prep work to get this film on the floors and intend to start the shooting in December 2018. Mammootty is set to return to the Telugu industry with upcoming film Yatra, a biopic on the rise of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Ys Rajasekhar Reddy. Directed by Mahi V Raghav will reportedly centre round the popular Pada Yatra by Ysr, which helped him win the elections Mammootty will be playing Ysr in this flick and he will be dubbing himself. In the meantime, Mammootty will be wrapping up his ongoing projects such as Uncle, Abrahaminte Santhathikal, Maamaankam. The star’s Parole was supposed to his the silver screens yesterday but has been postponed to next week as there was a delay in obtaining the clearance certificate from the Animal Welfare Board of India, essential in getting the film’s censor certification from the Cbfc. His Peranbu, directed by Ram, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on 27 January 2018 and it will be out at the theatres in Indian in May. While Mammootty plays the lead role in Peranbu, it also features Iniya and Miya as the female leads with Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Prabhakar and Lalu Alex in supporting roles. Mammootty’s ‘Parole’ release postponed

However, the makers of the film have issued a statement on their Facebook page confirming that the release has been postponed and that it will hit the marquee only on April 5. The Facebook post reads: “Dear all, due to some technical reasons, we regret to announce that our movie release has been postponed to 5th April 2018. Thank you for your patience. Your support and care has been really important to us. Please keep supporting. Let’s join hands to make Parole a big success!” According to reports doing the rounds, the film’s release had to be postponed to April 5 as there was a delay in obtaining the clearance certificate from the Animal Welfare Board of India, which needs to be submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification, for getting the film’s censor certificate. Touted to be an emotional drama that will have Mammootty putting on a powerful performance as a prisoner and Communist rebel, the film will feature actor Miya George as his sister. Directed by Sharrath Sandith, who will be making his debut as director with Parole, the film has been scripted by Ajith Poojappura. The star cast of Parole includes Iniya, Miya, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Prabhakar, Lalu Alex, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Juby Ninan, Sudheer Karamana and Alencier Ley Lopez with Mammootty playing the lead role of Comrade Alex. The film is produced by Antony D’Cruz under the banner Antony D’Cruz Entertainments and distributed by Century Films. The technical crew of Parole includes Sharreth and Ellwyn Joshua as music composers, Loganathan Srinivasan as cinematographer and Suresh Urs as editor. While Peranbu is gearing up for release next week, Mammootty fans are in for a treat as he has a strong line-up of films including Uncle, Abrahaminte Santhathikal and Maamaankam waiting to hit the silver screens this year. Mammootty’s 'Parole' to hit the screens soon

The teaser of Parole released recently shows its lead star behind the bars for committing a crime and we are yet to know the reason for it. Also, there are clips of an album containing photos capturing the best moments of the prisoner’s life. And it goes without saying that Mammootty plays the lead role, Alex in the film. The star cast of Parole is impressive with Mia George and Ineya playing the female leads and Tollywood actor Prabhakar playing an important role with Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Lalu Alex, Alencier, Sudheer Karamana and Kalashara Babu forming the supporting cast. On the film's title, its director Sharrath Sandith told the Times of India earlier, “I remember, on the first day of the shooting, we still didn't have a confirmed title. Mammukka was listening to a couple of songs that were composed for the film, and one of them was called the Parole song. That sort of struck him as something catchy. So, he asked one of the crew members to hand over the clapboard and he wrote down Parole on it. He was sceptical whether I would like it but I didn't have second thoughts.” Well, with Mammootty coming up with the title for this flick, the plot should be interesting to have the audiences glued to their seats. With Parole due release in less than a month, the star has moved over to his next and is busy concentrating in the period actioner Mamankam, which is being directed Sajeev Pillai.
