These New Details About the Upcoming Charlie's Angels Movie Are - Pardon the Pun - Heavenly
Details are gradually emerging about Elizabeth Banks's forthcoming Charlie's Angels movie, and the female-led action film sounds pretty heaven-sent. After teasing the movie on Instagram for nearly a year, Banks - who wrote, directed, and appears in the movie, by the way - finally divulged more on the premise in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

For starters, don't call it a reboot - consider it a "continuation." Banks explained that her modern iteration allows for the Angels to have more access and financial funding given how much the Townsend Agency has grown since its inception in the '70s. Starring are Kristen Stewart as the wild Sabina Wilson, Ella Balinska as former spy Jane Kano, and Naomi Scott as the "heart of the movie," scientist Elena Houghlin.

Banks unfortunately didn't give much away about Noah Centineo's role, except for the fact that his character, Langston, is a friend of Elena's.

There’s Simply No Way The Charlie’s Angels Reboot is Going to Be Good

If director Elizabeth Banks was hoping that her new version of Charlie’s Angels would be universally loved then she obviously wasn’t paying attention to the last couple of movies starring Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, and Drew Barrymore. The initial film that starred this trio was received far better than its follow-up sequel, but even the sequel seems to have been able to get more love than this new idea from Banks according to Rebecca Lewis from Metro. Apparently her movie isn’t going to be a reboot, but instead it will be a continuation of the movies that have already come

Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska Are Up to Stuff in First Look at ‘Charlie’s Angels’ (Photos)
Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska are ready for action (and horse racing) in the first images of Elizabeth Banks’ “Charlie’s Angels” movie to make their way online.

The images, exclusive to Entertainment Weekly, don’t really tell us much about the upcoming reboot, but they do look pretty cool. First, as seen above, we can see Stewart, Scott and Balinska as Sabina Wilson, Elena Houghlin and Jane Kano respectively, looking at… something like they’re about to do something tactical.

Below, you can see another cool image of Sabina hanging out with Banks’ Bosley. Bosley is of course helpful person who assists the Angels in their missions and also serves as a bridge between them and their employer. However, in a twist Banks isn’t the only Bosley in the new film. Patrick Stewart and Djimon Hounsou also play characters named Bosley, though just how that works we have no idea.

In this new reboot of the popular franchise, Charles Townsend has become a gazillionaire, taking his organization worldwide (a conceit we'll also see played with in Sony's other big 2019 franchise reboot Men in Black International). Elizabeth Banks claims that her movie is not a remake or reboot, but
