Half of the songwriting team of Leiber and Stoller, Mike Stoller wrote many hit songs with his partner Jerry Leiber, including many for Elvis Presley and The Coasters. Stoller was born on March 13, 1933 in Belle Harbor, Queens, New York City, New York, USA. He has been married to Corky Hale since 1970. He was previously married to Meryl Stoller.

The duo reportedly wrote "Baby I Don't Care", "I Want to Be Free", "Jailhouse Rock" and "Treat Me Nice" over a period of four hours one afternoon.
He and Jerry Leiber was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7083 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
Their career produced 15 #1 hits in different musical genres by such artists ranging from Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to Willie Nelson, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin.
