Director Ridley Scott returns to helm the sequel to his critical and box office hit. 'Gladiator 2' will explore the story of Lucius, nephew of Emperor Commodus, originally played by Spencer Treat Clark and Joaquin Phoenix. Paul Mescal ('Aftersun') takes on the role of adult Lucius, and he's surrounded by an all-star cast of Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Pedro Pascal. Plus, Connie Nielsen, Derek Jacobi, and Djimon Hounsou return from the first film.

All About 'Gladiator 2'

Djimon Hounsou was born in Cotonou, Benin, in west Africa to Albertine and Pierre Hounsou, a cook. He moved to Lyon, France, when he was 13. Hounsou has graced the catwalks of Paris and London as a popular male model. He has since left his modeling career and has worked on Gladiator (2000) by Ridley Scott and Amistad (1997) by Steven Spielberg.
