1935: Radio soap opera Backstage Wife premiered on the Mutual Broadcasting System (Mbs). The show moved to NBC Blue in 1936, NBC in 1938 and CBS in 1955, where it ran until January 2, 1959. Created by Frank and Anne Hummert, each episode opened with the announcer explaining:

What Happened to Patrick Drake on General Hospital

It’s been a while since fans have seen Patrick Drake on General Hospital, but he’s still remembered by viewers… and the characters on the show! The doctor was introduced back in December of 2005 when Jason Thompson joined the cast of Gh, although he wasn’t the only actor to play the role. For a week in 2008, Ethan Erickson stepped in as a temporary replacement when Thompson had to have minor surgery! Unfortunately, Patrick left Port Charles when Thompson left Gh in 2016, but while the doctor may be gone, he’s certainly not forgotten! Dr. Patrick Drake is the son of Noah and Mattie Drake, and first came to Port Charles when Robin Scorpio sought him out to perform surgery on Jason Morgan after Noah was unable to do it. When he was introduced, Patrick was an arrogant doctor with a womanizing streak, and he even had a fling with Carly!

'Melrose Place' 1.08 Preview: Ella Sniffs Lauren's Secret

Ella starts to smell something fishy is going on with Lauren and her sudden wealth. In the upcoming episode of "Melrose Place", Ella discovers Lauren's expensive new clothing and lingerie plus a large envelope of cash and confronts her roommate about the late nights she's been working.

Meanwhile, Riley helps Jonah film a wedding, but the two get into a big fight in the middle of the ceremony. Putting her relationship with Jonah first, Riley breaks off her friendship with Auggie, who doesn't take the news very well. David fears he may be responsible for Sydney's death.

The show will skip a week and be back on Tuesday, November 3 with "Gower". Rick Fox ("Dirt", "One Tree Hill") is guest starring in this episode as Mason, sharing screen with Ethan Erickson, Ashlee Simpson and Colin Egglesfield.

2006 Cancelled Shows: Upn Leaves Many Series Behind

When the Upn network closes its doors (along with The WB network) in September, it will be the end of over 10 years of programming from the Paramount-owned network. Some of the Upn shows will continue for another season on the new CW network. Here are some that won't be part of the new CW schedule.

Cuts - A spin-off series of the popular One on One series, this sitcom centered around a barber shop. The last original episode of the second season (#31) aired on May 11, 2006.

Eve - This sitcom starred Shelly Williams as a young beauty navigating the dating world. The series lasted three seasons and 66 episodes. The last original episode aired on May 11, 2006.

Get This Party Started - This short-lived party-planning "reality" series was cancelled a week after it debuted in February 2006. Former Extra reporter Ethan Erickson and Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari hosted the series.
