John Dye was born on January 31, 1963 in Amory, Mississippi, USA as John Carroll Dye. He was an actor and director, known for Tour of Duty (1987), Touched by an Angel (1994) and Jack's Place (1992). He died on January 10, 2011 in San Francisco, California, USA.

He had two brothers Jamey and Jerre. Jerre is also an actor.
He was an avid College Football fan.
He wore a ring on his right hand that was a gift to him from his maternal grandfather, whom he adored. It was a ring that had been in his family for years and belonged to his great grandfather.
His favorite TV show as a child was Jonny Quest (1964) and his favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz (1939).
His parents are Jim, who was a furniture manufacturer, and Lynn, a homemaker. They raised him and his two younger brothers as devout Methodists.
In his spare time he liked to play tennis and pool.
When he originally started college, he was planning to be a civil rights lawyer.
When he was in Jr. High school, he wanted to be an architect.
Got his big break with Taco Bell commercials ... In the commercial he had toy chickens stuck all over his jacket.
His brother Jerre Dye, who also is an actor, is the artistic director of a local theatre group called Voices of the South.
He is buried at Haughton Memorial Park in Amory, Mississippi.
John was never married.
