Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw Spin-Off Will Be More Grounded
With Deadpool 2 hitting theaters starting today, director David Leitch will likely now start focusing on his highly-anticipated Fast & Furious spin-off featuring Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). Universal has set a July 26, 2019 release date, with filming slated to begin this fall, and while doing press for Deadpool 2, David Leitch revealed that his spin-off will be more grounded than the Fast & Furious franchise it was spawned from. Here's what Leitch had to say below.

"I think it's going to be a little bit more grounded because it's the beginning. It's an origin story, in a sense. It's not an origin story, but we're starting a franchise. So we want it to be a little bit more grounded, a little bit more character-centric. We're going to set up the stakes for these guys and their relationship, but we're also going to have some great set

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War passes $1.8 billion to become fourth biggest movie of all time

It may have been knocked from the top of the box office by fellow superhero sequel Deadpool 2, but Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has continued its hugely impressive run by passing $1.8 billion worldwide.

Domestically, Infinity War grossed $28.7 million on its fourth weekend to take its North American gross to $595 million, while it also added a further $84.4 million internationally. The latter includes $53.7 million in China, where the film has now amassed $302 million, becoming only the second movie to surpass $300 million in two different markets after Furious 7.

Globally, Infinity War is now the fourth biggest movie of all time behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.07 billion), Titanic ($2.1 billion) and Avatar ($2.8 billion). $2 billion remains likely for the Marvel blockbuster, but with Solo: A Star Wars Story incoming this week, it remains to be seen whether the superhero epic can surpass The Force Awakens and Titanic.

During an interview with Collider, Leitch has been discussing his plans for the movie, and how he plans to differentiate it from the main Fast & Furious series.

“I think it’s going to be a little bit more grounded because it’s the beginning,” said Leitch. “It’s an origin story, in a sense. It’s not an origin story, but we’re starting a franchise. Rumour: Avengers 4 to see the return of long-dead Marvel character?

It seems safe to assume that next year’s Avengers 4 will see the return of many dead Marvel characters as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes somehow reverse their shattering defeat at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, which concluded with the Mad Titan wiping out half of all life in the universe.

Well, if rumours are to be believed, it may not just be those who fell at the snap of Thanos’ fingers who we see resurrected as MovieWeb is reporting that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was spotted on the set of Avengers 4, prompting speculation that his Avengers: Age of Ultron character Quicksilver is set for a return.

Quicksilver as you’ll recall was killed as the Avengers battled Ultron in the 2015 sequel, but there are a number of possible ways he could feature in Avengers 4 without being resurrected, be it through a flashback, a vision, Tony Stark’s B.A.

Will We Ever See A Last Witch Hunter 2?

He claimed on his Facebook page that the studio had asked him to set aside some time in the near future so that filming could take place. However, since then it has not really been mentioned in any detail which has left fans wondering whether they will ever see The Last Witch Hunter 2. It would be something fairly out of the ordinary for Vin Diesel if the film did not turn into a franchise with several sequels being made.
