Flashback: Bill and Ted Battle the Grim Reaper by Playing 'Battleship'

Flashback: Bill and Ted Battle the Grim Reaper by Playing 'Battleship'
The Bill & Ted fan community haven't had it easy over the past couple of decades. The only real content they've gotten to chew on since Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey left theaters in 1991 was the short-lived cartoon series Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures and a disastrous live-action Fox show that aired seven episodes in the summer of 1992 before being forever banished from the memory banks of every single person on the planet.

Making matters worse, series stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter pop up in the press every few months and

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter talk Bill & Ted 3

It’s been teased for several years now without seemingly getting any closer to becoming a reality, but stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have revealed to Entertainment Weekly that they are still hoping that Bill & Ted 3 – a.k.a. Bill & Ted Face the Music – could make it to the big screen.

“[Writers] Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon came to us in 2007 with the idea of doing it,” said Reeves. “They pitched us an idea. It sounded great. In show business, there’s show and then there’s business.”

“The whole trajectory of getting the next one off the ground has been pretty much exactly like the experience of getting the original,” stated Winter. “Going to every studio, and they’re like, ‘What the eff is this?’ It’s this kind of independent spirit, and the films have an anachronistic quality to them that’s a big part of what they are,

‘Bill and Ted 3’: Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Reveal What the Proposed Sequel Has in Common With ‘A Christmas Carol’
Having gone on both an “Excellent Adventure” and “Bogus Journey,” Bill and Ted might appear to be done traveling together. Not so, according to Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, who spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the long-rumored “Bill and Ted 3,” also known as “Bill and Ted Face the Music,” which co-writer Ed Solomon likened to “A Christmas Carol.”

“You’re told you’re gonna save the world,” said Chris Matheson, who co-wrote the first two films with Solomon. “And now you’re 50 and you haven’t done it. Now they’re married, and it affects their marriages, and it affects their relationships with their kids, and it affects their everything.”

“Everybody’s a little older now,” Reeves added. “A little afraid.”

“There’s certain comparisons,” Winter said. “A rock band that never goes to the place it thought it was going to get to. Having that moment in their life

Bill and Ted 3 Is Closer Than Ever to Finally Happening

Bill and Ted 3 Is Closer Than Ever to Finally Happening
It's a good day for fans of Bill and Ted. Earlier today we learned of a reunion where Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, along with creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson talked about the original plans for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Now, the crew admit that they're only months away from hopefully getting Bill & Ted 3 officially off the ground. We've been getting teased about the third installment in the Bill and Ted franchise for years now, but it really feels like it's only a matter of time before the cameras start rolling on Bill and Ted 3.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have kept in touch over the years, even working together on Winter's 2015 documentary, Deep Web, which Reeves narrated. As the idea for Bill and Ted 3, the duo explain that Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon approached them back in 2007 about reprising their iconic roles. However, Reeves notes that there's

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Discuss Bill & Ted 3 Which is Actually Close To Happening!

For years Bill & Ted fans have been hearing about a third Bill & Ted movie called Bill & Ted Face The Music. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are both on board to make the movie if a studio ever decides to pull the trigger on it. There's already a script that was written by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, the story of which follows the older middle-aged Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted 'Theodore' Logan back in time to interact with their past selves and George Carlin’s character Rufus, "using footage from 1989’s Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." It finds our heroes "still struggling to complete the great work of their life."

Now Reeves, Winter, Matheson, and Solomon have recently reunited for an interview with Entertainment Weekly to talk about Bill and Ted 3 and the long process they have gone through in trying to get it into production. Solomon says:

Bill and Ted Team Reunite to Reveal Excellent Adventure Secrets

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon have revealed that Bill and Ted were nearly responsible for everything bad that ever happened in history in an early draft of the story. Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the cult film and Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have gotten together to discuss some of the major changes that the franchise went through with Matheson and Solomon. As it turns out, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was almost a completely different movie.

Chris Matheson still has the notes that he and Ed Solomon wrote ahead of the script, which had the movie titled as Bill and Ted's Time Van, which is pretty good, but definitely not as good as Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Other differences were a lot more drastic, with some of the areas the duo could have visited including Revolutionary France, Egypt, Medieval England,

New ‘Bill & Ted 3’ Details Revealed; Writer Ed Solomon Likens It to ‘A Christmas Carol’
The long-awaited Bill & Ted 3 might actually, maybe, possibly really happen. A third film in the Bill & Ted franchise has been in the works for a long while, with writers Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson — who wrote Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey — beginning work on a script back in 2010. The sequel has never officially been set up at a studio, but given Solomon and Matheson’s passion for the characters and stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter’s desire to return, the writers wrote a script completely on …

Bill & Ted 3 Crew Offer Update, Tease ‘News That Will Stick’ Soon

Bill & Ted 3 remains a very distinct possibility, and fans will hopefully soon hear “news that will stick.” The update comes from original Bill & Ted stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, and screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon.

The first film in the franchise, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, was released in 1989 and presciently tapped into slacker/stoner culture, offering a slightly airier take on Back to the Future.

Bill and Ted Get an Excellent New Collectors Poster

A cool new poster for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure has arrived, and it channels the fun and spirit of the original movie. While we all sit around and wonder about the status of Bill and Ted 3, aka Bill and Ted Face the Music, Bill and Ted super fan Matt Ryan Tobin has drawn up some Wyld poster designs. The latest poster is from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, which follows the same design structure that Tobin used when he made his Bogus Journey poster last year. Tobin created the posters to pay tribute to his favorite movies of all time, and his passion is not bogus at all.

Artist Matt Tobin Ryan has offered up a new screen-printed poster based off of the events of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. The attention to detail is truly amazing and it looks even cooler in the metallic foil variant. Tobin reveals

William Sadler Is Ready to Return as Death in Bill and Ted 3

It didn't take long for the news to reach Sadler, who's revealed that he is game to reprise the role. Now all we have to do is secure some financial backing for the long-awaited sequel, so we can finally see it.

Ed Solomon co-created Bill and Ted with Chris Matheson, and the duo have been hard at work on Bill and Ted 3, aka Bill and Ted Face the Music. William Sadler is Ready To Reprise His Role of Death in Bill And Ted 3

Over the past few years, we've been hearing a lot about Bill and Ted 3. As a huge fan of the first two films, I really hope that this new sequel happens. I enjoyed everything that I've heard about it so far and Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are both on board to make the film if it happens.

Director Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) and writer Ed Solomon are pushing for the movie to happen. The film is said to be titled Bill & Ted Face The Music, and when previously talking about the film, Solomon said the story will send the older middle-aged Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan back in time to interact with their past selves and George Carlin’s character Rufus, "using footage from 1989’s Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." Solomon went on to reveal:

"They return to that scene at the Circle K when Bill and Ted first meet themselves,

Bill & Ted 3 has a role for William Sadler’s Death

Simon Brew Feb 20, 2018

If Bill & Ted 3 finally moves forward, expect William Sadler back as the Grim Reaper...

The prolonged gestation of Bill & Ted 3 continues, with the wait only occasionally relieved by a fresh titbit as to what to expect. There’s little sign that the film is going before the cameras anytime soon, sadly, although both Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter remain keen on making the movie.

Its co-writer, Ed Solomon, has been chatting about the film on his social media account though, replying to a Tweet commending the scene-stealing work of William Sadler in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, over 25 years ago. “Bill Crushed it as Death”, Solomon replied. “And we laughed a lot writing him in BT3 – so let’s hope it’s something that happens”.

Fingers crossed indeed. We live in hope that this is the year the film finally makes genuine progress, and that it also

It's been nearly 30 years since Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and a lot has happened since then, but everybody involved in the new movie seem really passionate about getting it made. However, Bill and Ted 3 is still in the writing phase and has yet to secure funding at this time.

Screenwriter Ed Solomon co-created Bill and Ted with Chris Matheson and the two have been hard at work on Bill and Ted 3, though Solomon has been a bit more vocal about it. William Sadler’s Death to return in Bill & Ted Face the Music

We’re getting more totally excellent details on a potential third Bill & Ted movie, Bill & Ted Face the Music. Following Digital Spy’s interview with original writer Ed Solomon, comes with the news that William Sadler, who played the Grim Reaper in 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, is “keeping [his] bony white fingers crossed” for a third outing.

Sadler, who stole the sequel with his parody of Ingmar Bergman’s classic The Seventh Seal, as he played Battleships with Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves), replied to Ed Solomon’s endorsement of the Digital Spy article with the following tweet.

The world could totally use some #BillandTed right now. I’m keeping my bony white #fingerscrossed.

— William Sadler (@Wm_Sadler) February 18, 2018

Solomon responded by confirming that Death was indeed a part of the script they’d written.

The Original Script Pages For Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Comes With an Inspiring Backstory

It's hard to believe that it has been almost 30 years since Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was released. I love that movie so much. The story of two teenagers, Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted "Theodore" Logan, traveling through time in a phone booth so they could deliver the most excellent history report, was such a fun and ridiculous adventure. The movie just radiates so much joy, happiness, and humor.

This movie helped launch the careers of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter and they're currently trying to get a third movie off the ground, which would be amazing.

The film was co-written by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, and their initial first draft of the script was handwritten on yellow notepad paper in a coffee shop. Matheson recently shared those first script pages online and he also used the opportunity to tell the inspiring and charming backstory of how they brought this concept into the world.

George Carlin Will be a Deep Part of ‘Bill & Ted Face the Music’

It has been 27 years since we last saw the time traveling duo of Bill and Ted. We first saw the two in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure in 1989 when the best friends set out on a quest to put on the ultimate historical presentation by bringing historical figures to the then modern 1980s with the help of Rufus (George Carlin) and a phone booth time machine. Over the years there has been talk about getting the team back together for a third film but the project has stalled along the way. Writer Ed Solomon, who wrote the original script, has revealed some new details on the film and what is holding it up this time around.

In a lengthy interview with Digital Spy, Solomon explained how the next Bill & Ted film will deal with Carlin’s passing and his character Rufus, saying:

“George Carlin is so deeply missed by all of us.
