Born 1960 in Amsterdam, Holland, and graduated at the Dutch Film
Academy in Amsterdam 1985, Nils Post has been working as a director of
photography since 1990. He has shot projects ranging from Features, TV
Movies and TV Series, Documentaries and Commercials. His work consist
of a variety of genres, historical (WW II) & period films as well as
contemporary drama and several television series dealing with organized
crime, police and the secret service. 1990 to present he has shot with
such notable directors as Gerrard Verhage, Roeland Kerbosch, Herbert
Curiel, Guido Pieters, Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen, to name just a
few. Besides features and TV movies he has shot quite a few
dance-films, this as a result of a longtime collaboration with Dutch
director Clara van Gool, almost all her films involve dance. Bitings
and Other Effects (1995) shot on location in Palermo, Sicily was
awarded a Golden Calf for best short film at the Dutch Film Festival
1995. Enter Achilles (1996) a BBC production with DV8 Physical Theatre
received numerous awards including an International Emmy. Nils is now
living in Amsterdam and works mainly in Europe, he speaks English,
German and Dutch fluently.
