Will Mirai Nagasu easily skate to a ‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’ victory?
Mirai Nagasu had been angling for a “Dancing with the Stars” spot since before she was done competing in the Pyeongchang Olympics, so it’s nice for ABC to make her wish come true. The Olympic bronze medalist, who became the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics, became an instant favorite to win the Mirrorball with her partner Alan Bersten and is currently sitting in second place in our odds. But will she have what it takes to be the third figure skater to win after Kristi Yamaguchi and Meryl Davis? Let’s weigh the pros and cons.

Pros:

There is a very common misconception that skating is just dancing with skates. That’s not true at all; they’re very different sports that require different muscles, skills and muscle memory — e.

Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber want Margot Robbie and Allison Janney in their ‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’ routines

Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber want Margot Robbie and Allison Janney in their ‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’ routines
If Margot Robbie and Allison Janney stop by “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” to cheer on Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber, they might not just be in the audience. Asked by “Access Hollywood” if the “I, Tonya” stars will visit, the pair had some big plans for their VIP guests.

“They’re gonna be in the number,” Farber says. “We want them in the number, right?”

“Yes, yes!” Harding replies.

We can see it now: Harding and Farber will do a dance trio with Robbie, and then Janney will interrupt with Little Man perched on her shoulder and her shiny new Oscar in tow to declare, “Well, my storyline is disappearing right now. What the f—.”

In all seriousness, Harding has no idea if Robbie and Janney will stop by yet. “I hope so,

Tonya Harding is ‘perfectly fine’ with Nancy Kerrigan comparisons on ‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’
Everyone and their mother will be pitting Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan against each other once again when the former starts her “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” run, a year after the latter competed. But that’s not going to faze the controversial figure skater.

“You know, I know that there are going to be comparisons and that’s perfectly fine,” Harding told E! News.

Kerrigan was booted along with “The Bachelor” star Nick Viall in sixth place in a double elimination on Season 24. The skaters are, of course, inextricably linked thanks to the 1994 attack on Kerrigan orchestrated by Harding’s ex-husband Jeff Gillooly. Harding pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution of the attackers and was banned for life by the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

While the incident was a centerpiece of “I, Tonya,” Harding

‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’: Which sports have the best track records?
Seven sports are represented by the 10 athletes on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” including some of the show’s staples. But which sport’s athletes have done the best on the show? You can probably guess. Let’s look at these seven sports’ “Dancing” histories.

Football (Josh Norman)

As everyone knows, football is by far “Dancing”’s favorite sport. They don’t even try to hide it. Nineteen football players have hoofed it before this season, and while they haven’t all made it to the business end of their respective seasons, football has produced four winners, three runner-ups and two third-place finishers. So, no pressure, Josh, to follow in these pigskin players’ footsteps.

Figure skating is “Dancing”’s second favorite sport, though it’s still well behind football. Before this season, six

The All-Athlete 'DWTS' Cast Has Finally Been Revealed — See the Full List Here!

Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars is already shaping up to be the most drama-filled yet! ABC revealed the full cast during Good Morning America on Friday, April 13, and let's just say there's one controversial member of the first-ever all-athlete lineup. Before today's big reveal, it was reported that Tonya Harding would be on the show — and sure enough, today she danced away on Gma with her pro partner Sasha Farber. Many critics were angry to see Tonya as a sympathetic character in the Oscar-nominated film I, Tonya, so we're sure there will be some pushback against Tonya now that she's back in the spotlight. The anger goes back to when her competitor Nancy Kerrigan (who was a past DWTS contestant herself) was attacked before the Olympics, and it was traced back to Tonya and her husband. The controversy certainly has our interests piqued... Prior to the official announcement this morning,

Adam Rippon & Mirai Nagasu ‘are the two to beat’ on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ but Tonya Harding is a ‘wild card’ [Watch]
“I think Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu are the front-runners,” says Gold Derby editor Joyce Eng about the competitors who were just announced for “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes.” “If you’ve ever seen either of them skate they’re both very lyrical on the ice, and I think that will translate very well onto the floor as we’ve seen in the past with other figure skaters like Kristi Yamaguchi and ice dancer Meryl Davis.” Eng broke down the entire lineup of contestants along with fellow editor Daniel Montgomery. Watch their slugfest above.

Montgomery agrees that Rippon and Nagasu are “the two to beat” thanks to their athletic prowess, musicality, and personalities. “They’re going to be fan-favorites too, so they’re not going to struggle [for votes].” But they’re not the only figure skaters in the competition. The show also made a potentially controversial choice by picking 1991 Us national champion Tonya Harding,

The True Life Story Behind I, Tonya: Inside the Figure Skating Scandal That Shocked the World

The True Life Story Behind I, Tonya: Inside the Figure Skating Scandal That Shocked the World
It was the sports scandal that rocked the world.

Seven weeks before the 1994 Olympic Winter Games, Tonya Harding’s skating rival, Nancy Kerrigan, was clubbed on the knee by an assailant.

Authorities soon determined that Harding was involved and that her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, had allegedly hired the attacker. For the media, the narrative was perfect: Kerrigan was the pretty, poised, innocent victim. Harding was the rough-around-the-edges assailant from the wrong side of the tracks.

Almost 24 years later, Margot Robbie is immortalizing the infamous skater in the highly anticipated I, Tonya — a biopic that offers a surprisingly sympathetic view at Harding’s life before,

Tonya Harding Fully Expects Nancy Kerrigan Comparisons on Dancing With the Stars
Tonya Harding is so ready to finally be on Dancing with the Stars.  The former Olympic figure skater is a longtime fan of the ABC reality show and has "always wanted to be on it," she told E! News after the all-athletes cast announcement in New York this morning, but she knows there's one name she won't be able to escape during her time on the show.  Harding is well known for an incident in 1994 when her ex-husband hired someone to hit figure skating rival Nancy Kerrigan in the knee. The story, as well as Harding's difficult childhood and rise to skating stardom, was chronicled in the 2017 movie I, Tonya, with Margot Robbie playing Tonya.  Nancy...

Inside Tonya Harding’s Return to the Spotlight Over 20 Years After Nancy Kerrigan Was Attacked
Following the release of the critically acclaimed film I, Tonya, Tonya Harding’s time in the spotlight has changed drastically since 1994, when her rival Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed on the leg at a practice before the 1994 national skating championships.

On Friday, ABC announced that (after much speculation) the controversial figure skater, 47, would be joining the cast of Dancing with the Stars: Athletes.

Allison Janney, who won an Academy Award for playing Harding’s mother, Lavona, previously opened up about how working on the film, which portrayed Harding’s story in a sympathetic light, completely changed her view on what
