Discovery Needs To Bring Back Star Trek Tos' Guardian Of Forever

Discovery Needs To Bring Back Star Trek Tos' Guardian Of Forever
The Guardian of Forever needs to make its return to Star Trek: Discovery in order to make crossovers happen with the 32nd-century-set Star Trek series. The upcoming Star Trek: Discovery season 5 promises a change in tone from the dire, galactic threats of seasons 3 and 4. Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the USS Discovery are chasing "the greatest treasure in the known galaxy." Whatever this prize is in Discovery season 5 sets up more galactic exploration than in prior seasons - which could lead to the return of the Guardian of Forever.

Introduced in what is considered the greatest Star Trek: The Original Series episode of all, "The City on the Edge of Forever," the Guardian of Forever was a sentient time portal discovered by Captain James T. Kirk's (William Shatner) Starship Enterprise. The oblong-shaped Guardian existed on a long-dead planet, and it was the vessel through which Kirk and

Eric Szmanda will be returning to the CSI franchise in upcoming episodes of CSI: Vegas. The crime drama premiered on CBS last year and serves as a sequel to the popular, and long-running, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Remember the Night

Remember the Night
Mitchell Leisen’s great Christmas-time tale has a brilliant screenplay by Preston Sturges and letter-perfect performances by Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray, threading the needle between light cynicism and well-earned sentiment. Sturges’ celebration of ‘country values’ is sincere and heartfelt, as is his affection for the supporting cast. Tos Invented Star Trek's Best Time Travel

Tos Invented Star Trek's Best Time Travel
Time travel is a common and popular trope in Star Trek, but one particular method invented in Star Trek: The Original Series is the standout means of traveling backward or forward in time. Nearly every Star Trek series and two of the most popular movies, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek: First Contact, feature time travel. Star Trek: Discovery even left its 23rd-century origin point after season 2 for a new permanent berth exploring the 32nd century. In Star Trek: Prodigy, Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran) is now a prisoner in the 25th century thanks to the USS Protostar's accidental time travel.

Each Star Trek has found novel means to send characters throughout time, in accordance with whatever sci-fi gimmick that is entailed (temporal mechanics in Star Trek be damned.) Star Trek: The Original Series' most celebrated episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever," introduced the time portal called the Guardian of Forever.

The Good House – Review

The Good House – Review
With the temps falling and the leaves slowly changing, lots of folks may be thinking of taking a trip to New England. Perhaps you could “hunker down” in a quaint old house by the water. Hey, if you’ve got the moola, maybe you could just buy the place, and make it your getaway, or permanent “digs”. Oh but most of us would have to do this vicariously, maybe at the movies. But who would you contact about such a fantasy home, say in a rustic lil’ village? And that is answered in this week’s star-powered release. Surely such a spot would be free of worries, “no hassles, no hustles”, right? Not really, as this film’s focus finds out. It seems you’re never safe from those “inner demons”, not even at The Good House.

That person living in such a primo place is the town’s number

Marg Helgenberger on Returning to Catherine Willows Role for ‘CSI: Vegas': ‘I Missed Her’
CSI” Og Marg Helgenberger will return to the role of Catherine Willows for “CSI: Vegas” this fall, a continuation of CBS’ long-running forensics crime franchise, and on Friday the actress revealed part of the reason you’ll see her back is because she missed her character.

“When I left, midway through Season 12 of the original series, I needed to step back because I played the role for so long, and it had become such a part of my life that I felt she had become a part of my identity a little bit,” the actress said during CBS’ presentation at the Television Critics Association virtual summer press tour. “Having that perspective of being away from her and then coming back and in a big way as this, I did miss her actually. I missed her; I missed her passion; I missed her swagger; I missed her spunk.”

Helgenberger was an

Harrison Ford Had Some Presidential Help Preparing For Air Force One

Harrison Ford Had Some Presidential Help Preparing For Air Force One
Ah, "Air Force One." That fine bit of '90s pulp escapism, complete with across-the-board actioner performances (Glenn Close! Paul Guilfoyle! Dean Stockwell! William H. Macy!) punctuated by Gary Oldman's neo-Soviet baddie Egor Korshunov -- chronologically performed back-to-back with his sci-fi agent of chaos Zorg in Luc Besson's "The Fifth Element" -- and the greatest movie president of all time, Harrison Ford's stiff-upper-lipped James "Get off my plane" Marshall. Not to mention, Jerry Goldsmith's main theme that should have also served as the "Avengers" theme, to be honest.

For the uninitiated, the film, a Wolfgang Petersen special, follows the American president, a decorated Vietnam...

Another ‘CSI’ Vet May Return to ‘Vegas’ for Season 2

Another ‘CSI’ Vet May Return to ‘Vegas’ for Season 2
It might not just be the new CSIs in Season 2 of the sequel to the long-running hit. Marg Helgenberger, who played Catherine Willows in the original CSI for 12 seasons, is “in talks” to return to the franchise, TVLine reports. This possible return comes after it was announced the two original series stars who appeared in the first season of CSI: VegasWilliam Petersen and Jorja Fox — will not be back. When Fox’s Sara Sidle returned to Las Vegas in the sequel’s premiere, following an attack on Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), she told him, “Catherine has rolled out a red carpet. She would be here, you know that, if she could.” Jim agreed, “she’s got a little grandbaby in Dublin.” So if Helgenberger does sign on, what might bring Catherine back to Vegas? Could it be the new serial killer introduced at the end of the Season 1 finale?

SAG Awards predictions for Film Ensemble: ‘Belfast’ out front, but what about ‘The Power of the Dog’?

SAG Awards predictions for Film Ensemble: ‘Belfast’ out front, but what about ‘The Power of the Dog’?
One of the tightest races at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards is Best Film Ensemble, which has led to a Best Picture Oscar nomination for nearly every winner of this category since the guild began handing out awards for the 1995 film year. According to Gold Derby’s SAG Awards predictions for Film Ensemble, this year’s five nominees will be “Belfast,” “The Power of the Dog,” “West Side Story,” “King Richard” and “Don’t Look Up.”

Focus Features’ “Belfast” comes in first place with 39/10 odds. Surprisingly, this front-runner cast featuring Jude Hill, Caitriona Balfe and Jamie Dornan only has one supporting player who has been nominated by SAG Award before: Judi Dench. Dench has racked up an impressive 14 nominations in her historic career, winning for Film Ensemble for 1998’s “Shakespeare in Love” and Film Supporting Actress for 2000’s “Chocolat.” Could she be the good luck charm that leads the rest of
