Maleficent 2 Adds Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Actress

Casting on Disney’s Maleficent 2 continues full steam ahead today, as Variety brings word that Jenn Murray, who you may know from her role as Chastity Barebone in Warner Bros.Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has climbed on board the sequel. Further details weren’t disclosed at the time of writing, but should a deal place, she’ll be just the latest headline-worthy addition to the blockbuster.

The other week, for instance, we told you that Harris Dickinson (Trust) had signed on to play the prince – presumably at the expense of Brenton Thwaites, who’s now fully committed to the live-action Titans series, which is heading to WB’s newly-unveiled DC Universe.

Circling back to Maleficent 2, though, and we know that Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning are both expected to return for more fantasy-fuelled hijinks, with newcomer Ed Skrein (Deadpool) attached to one of the sequel

Well, here we are more than a decade later, and Jen is ready to make that happen — with Brad Pitt! "The two have grown closer over the last couple of years," a friend of the duo recently told In Touch Weekly. "His marriage [to Angelina Jolie] fell apart, then her marriage to [Justin Theroux] ended. During that difficult time, Brad and Jen reconnected. Animator Nora Twomey: ‘Factory work was incredible training for my imagination’

The director on leaving school at 15, working with Angelina Jolie on her first solo feature The Breadwinner, and fighting cancer

Nora Twomey is a 46-year-old Irish animator and co-founder of the revered, Kilkenny-based Cartoon Saloon. She was co-director, with Tomm Moore, of 2009’s The Secret of Kells and head of story on Song of the Sea (2014), both of which were nominated for Academy Awards. Her first solo feature, The Breadwinner, is set in Kabul in 2001 and follows a young girl who disguises herself as a boy to support her family after her father is arrested by the Taliban. That, too, made this year’s shortlist for best animated film at the Oscars – not bad going for a woman who left school at 15 without completing her Leaving Certificate.

The Breadwinner was originally a 2000 novel by Deborah Ellis – you’ve said, after reading it, you felt compelled to make the film. What

20 Actors Who Didn't Marry Actors
When it comes to the laws of dating in Hollywood, musicians are typically drawn to models, while actors tend to gravitate toward other actors. They meet on set while filming a movie - we're looking at you, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - or cross paths during an industry event and end up living happily ever after. For some stars, though, it's more appealing to settle down with someone who's not in the spotlight, like an agent, an artist, or, in the case of Matt Damon, a Miami Beach bartender. George Clooney made headlines when he married civil rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, whose impressive accomplishments more than match up to his acting career, and ballet professional Benjamin Millepied danced his way into Natalie Portman's heart when they tied the knot in 2012. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Although the pair did love each other for a period of time, Justin can now do what he wants without having to answer to the former Friends star. He's an NYC guy and she's an La girl, which means they led "vastly different lifestyles" before they fell for each other.

When Gwyneth Paltrow, Blythe Danner and a Drunk Christopher Walken Starred in ‘The Sea Gull’ (Podcast)

When Gwyneth Paltrow, Blythe Danner and a Drunk Christopher Walken Starred in ‘The Sea Gull’ (Podcast)
For her new Goop podcast, Gwyneth Paltrow recently talked with her mom, Blythe Danner, about the time in 1994 they appeared in an adaptation of “The Sea Gull” — with a drunk-on-cocktails-in-a-can Christopher Walken.

“It was a strange production,” Danner said, involving complex mother-daughter dynamics — and it’s the subject of our new “Shoot This Now” podcast, in which we talk about stories that should be made into movies. You can listen on Apple or Spotify or right here:

My fellow “Shoot This Now” host, Matt Donnelly, loves Paltrow the way Tony Stark loves Pepper Potts, and I don’t totally get it.

But we do agree — and so does our guest, TheWrap film reporter Trey Williams — that Paltrow, Danner and Walken’s performance of “The Sea Gull” would be an excellent backdrop for a film or miniseries about Hollywood mothers and daughters.

The “Sea Gull” discussion comes around the 37-minute mark of the Goop podcast. Danner recalls being very tough on her 19-year-old daughter, who “didn’t have too work hard” on the difficult role of Nina, a role Danner had played herself 20 years earlier.

Danner had mixed emotions over how easily acting seemed to come for Paltrow, and that led to tension between them.

Both profess their undying love for Walken, but also remember a comical night when he got drunk on cocktails-in-a-can.

“Oh my God. Mom, do you remember that night he got drunk onstage with me?”

“As wacky as he can be, he is such a company person. His heart is always there to catch you,” Danner replied. “Unfortunately, not that night, because he just happened to be drinking. He didn’t normally.”

Paltrow and Danner came together to save things — Paltrow onstage, and Danner off.

We also talk about why “Silicon Valley” star Zach Woods would be great as Walken and our bold choices to ply Paltrow and Danner. And we talk about mundane celebrity encounters with the cast of “Entourage” and Michael Jackson.

Oscar-Nominated Producer Launches New Republic Production Company

Academy Award-nominated producer Brian Oliver launched a new production and financing venture, New Republic Pictures, on Tuesday, with a first-look agreement at Paramount Pictures.

Under its first-look deal, Paramount will co-finance and distribute some of New Republic films. The two companies have agreed to co-finance Paramount’s Elton John biopic “Rocketman,” starring “Kingsman” star Taron Egerton. Academy Award-nominee Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”) wrote the screenplay and Dexter Fletcher (“Eddie the Eagle” and “Bohemian Rhapsody”) will direct.

“Earlier stops in my career, especially at Propaganda Films and Cross Creek Pictures, allowed me to learn all aspects of production, finance, distribution, and marketing, and to construct my own company from that extensive knowledge base in every aspect of the business,” Oliver said in a statement. “Building a new company from the ground up was a bit more challenging than I imagined and there have been a couple starts and stops with potential financing partners, but I believe the things I learned throughout this process will allow me to position my investors in even better ways for continued success.”

Oliver was the co-founder of the production and financing company Cross Creek Pictures before launching New Republic Pictures. At Cross Creek, he was responsible for spearheaded award-winning films such as “Black Swan” and “Hacksaw Ridge.”

Films that Oliver has helped produce have received 13 Oscars nominations, 14 Golden Globe nominations and 23 BAFTA Award nominations, along with more than $1.4 billion of worldwide box-office grosses.

Justin Theroux and Emma Stone Keep Their Distance at Met Gala After Cozy Lunch Date

Jeez, Justin Theroux is really going full steam ahead on his newfound independence, huh? While Jennifer Aniston is focusing on herself right now following news of her divorce from her husband of three years, Justin is seemingly focusing on someone else... Emma Stone! The pair were spotted heading out for a dinner date in NYC recently, and they looked cozier than ever. Emma was clearly very comfortable with Justin and could be seen goofing around, leaning on his muscly arm, and in some cases it looked like they may have been holding hands! Days after their date, though, the two seem to be keeping their distance — probably to keep all those whispers at bay. They showed up separately to this year's Met Gala, Justin alone while Emma walked the red carpet with Nicolas Ghesquière, the current creative director of Louis Vuitton. The actress became a brand ambassador for the fashion house back in October,
