Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill! – The Review

Review by Mark Longden

One of my favourite things to do when a movie isn’t exactly holding my interest is play “B-movie economics”. I try and puzzle out how something gets funded inside the fictional world, and this one has a doozy. Our “villain”, a guy who had his face carved off by Middle Eastern terrorists when in the army over there, has built a huge underground concrete base with multiple rooms, all sorts of remote controlled traps, a huge control room with multiple TV feeds, etc. So, how did this guy pay for all this? Did he get an insurance payout from the Iraqi government? What did he tell the contractors who came to fit all his wiring and special death traps? Where did he pick up his two sidekicks?

“Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!” is named after one of the great movies of the 60s, “Faster, Pussycat!

Wild Trailer For Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill! is Like Russ Meyer Meets Saw

I've got a crazy trailer for a new horror thriller called Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill!. I don't know if you're familiar with the filmmaker Russ Meyer, from the 60s and 70s, but it totally seems like this is the kind of movie he would have made in the style of Saw. Meyer is behind such films as Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Common Law Cabin, Finders Keepers, Lovers Weepers!, Vixen, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, and more. They are all very grindhouse-style type movies.

Anyway, if you're familiar with his stuff, then Halloween Pussy Trap Kill! Kill! is a film you'll probably enjoy. Here's the synopsis:

18 films that took their inspiration from James Bond movies

Bourne and Mission: Impossible, right back to Harry Palmer and Danger Diabolik - meet the many pretenders to James Bond's throne...

Since 1962, the James Bond franchise has come to define the spy genre, for good or ill. More broadly, every thriller and action film that comes out now either uses them as inspiration, or attempts to ignore or re-work the tropes that have come to be associated with the series.

Coming off the release of Kingsman: The Secret Service, and with the release of a new Bond film this year, now seems like the perfect time to take a look at a sample of the films which have been inspired by James Bond — either as homages, parodies or reactions.

The Ipcress File (1965)

Produced by James Bond producer Harry Saltzman as a more grounded alternative to the largesse of Bond, The Ipcress File is more concerned with the intricacies of real spy-work — the endless paperwork,

8 of the best inside jokes from 22 Jump Street

8 of the best inside jokes from 22 Jump Street
22 Jump Street is available now to Buy & Keep on Sky Store.

Having defied everybody's low expectations by making their original reboot one of the funniest films of 2012, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have upped the ante again with their even more self-referential sequel.

Digital Spy has partnered with Sky Store to relive just a few of the best in-jokes, callbacks and pop culture references that undercover cops Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) come out with this time around.

1. "It looks like a giant cube of ice," Schmidt breathes in awe when he and Jenko clap eyes on their new, big-budget digs at 22 Jump Street… just as Ice Cube himself reappears as the (ironically hot-tempered) Captain Dickson.

2. Proving that Channing Tatum is more than game for making fun of his own career, it's suggested at one point that partners go to work for the President as secret service agents,

‘After Midnight’ VOD Review

Stars: Tim Abell, Marliss Amiea, Catherine Annette, Richard Grieco, Erika Jordan, Tawny Kitaen, Rya Meyers, David Novak, Christine Nguyen, Bobby Rice, Don Scribner | Written by Fred Olen Ray, Andrew Helm | Directed by Fred Olen Ray

As a teen just getting into the world of low-budget horror movies, and straight to VHS fare, there were a handful of directors whose work I would buy and/or rent without fail and without any prior knowledge (besides the spiel on the back of the box) of what i was getting into. One of those directors was Fred Olen Ray, the genius behind such films as Scalps, Star Slammer, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Evil Toons, Cyclone and the awesome Scream Queen Hot Tub Party. However in the intervening years it’s safe to say I haven’t had the urge to watch as many of his flicks as I did in the 80s/90s heyday
