Ron Perlman and More Boycott Georgia Film and TV Production Over Election Results

A boycott against film and television production in Georgia is growing following the November 16 announcement that Democrat Stacey Abrams officially conceded to Republican Brian Kemp in the state’s gubernatorial election. Abrams, who was backed by such Hollywood heavyweights as Oprah Winfrey, said she plans to file a federal lawsuit over the “gross mismanagement of Georgia’s election system.”

The election had been mired in controversy over absentee and provisional ballots, including 27 counties having to conduct a second review of provisional ballots cast because would-be voters didn’t appear on the voter rolls.

Hollywood’s boycott against Georgia over the handling of election results was kickstarted by Frank Rich, an executive producer on HBO’s “Veep” and “Succession.” Rich reacted to Kemp’s impending victory by writing on social media, “If Kemp wins in Georgia, Hollywood should put its money where its mouth is and pull all production out of the state.

Hey Lucasfilm! Ron Perlman Wants in on Some Star Wars Action!

Ron Perlman is an extremely fun actor to watch and has a larger than life personality that his fans love and appreciate. After all these years it’s kind of surprising that no one has asked him to be in a Star Wars movie! That’s a franchise that he would fit right into.

In a recent interview with Cb, the actor was asked if he’d be interested in being a part of the Star Wars franchise and this was his response:

"Write your Congressman, because I'd love to be seen in one of those. Whatever you got to do. Say, 'Hey George [Lucas], there's this newcomer, this kid named Perlman, you should really check him out.'"

At this point, George Lucas doesn’t really have a say in who is cast in the films or new live-action TV shows, but the filmmakers who are developing those projects should definitely reach out to him!

Ron Perlman Asks Fans To Campaign For Him To Be In Star Wars

Hellboy star Ron Perlman has had a long and varied career, but there’s one franchise he’s never cracked but dearly wants to: Star Wars. recently interviewed Perlman and asked him whether he’d be interested in a role in a future project set in that galaxy far, far away, to which he gave an unreservedly positive response, saying:

“Write your Congressman, because I’d love to be seen in one of those. Whatever you got to do. Say, ‘Hey George [Lucas], there’s this newcomer, this kid named Perlman, you should really check him out.'”

First off, it’s no surprise Perlman hasn’t popped up in Tatooine if he thinks cozying up to George Lucas is the best way to get into Star Wars. While the approval of Lucas might work in your favor, it’s really Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and her Disney overlords

Hellboy Day Announced for 2019
Next year is officially the 25th anniversary of Hellboy, and creator Mike Mignola, as well as publisher Dark Horse Comics, intend to celebrate the momentous occasion in style. They have officially announced the first ever Hellboy Day, set for March 23, 2019, a holiday dedicated to celebrating the big red hell-spawned hero's legacy. Mignola had this to say about the announcement in a statement.

"When I created Hellboy way back when, I never imagined he would be around long enough to celebrate a 25th anniversary. I'm grateful to the writers, artists, colorists and letterers who have joined me in telling Hellboy stories or all these years. And, of course, so grateful to the fans. This thing could not exist without their support, and it's a pleasure every time I get to go out to meet them."

Ron Perlman Says Hellboy’s Still An Open Wound For Him

Hellboy fans are currently looking forward to seeing the reboot of the Dark Horse Comics character that’ll be hitting theaters next year, starring David Harbour as the Right Hand of Doom. However, the excitement’s tinged with a sense of sadness, too, as director Neil Marshall’s reboot comes at the cost of the long-touted trilogy closer to Guillermo del Toro’s first two Hellboy films.

As bummed as fans of those cult favorite movies are that the third installment never happened, imagine how star Ron Perlman must feel. The actor has often seemed reluctant to discuss the reboot on past occasions and during an in-depth chat with Collider, he revealed why. Apparently, the topic of Hellboy is still an “open wound” for him, as he’s so disappointed that he and del Toro never got to finish what they started.

“I felt like we owed the fans closure,

Review: Batman: The Complete Animated Series

  • Comicmix
The second wave of Batmania was ignited in 1989 when Tim Burton finally got a big screen adaptation of the comic book hero into theaters. It was such a wild success in terms of merchandising that Warner Bros wanted more and quickly. Since features take two to three years, they needed something sooner and the success of their Tiny Tunes and Animaniacs encouraged them to bring the Dark Knight back to television.

Thankfully, the project was placed in the hands of Alan Burnett, Bruce Timm, and Paul Dini who were not only fans of the character but the earliest cartoon fare. Taking a visual cue from Burton and a stylistic one from the Fleischer Brothers Studio, they produced a Batman cartoon unlike anything from the 1960s or 1970s. Batman the Animated Series was sampled on prime time in September 1992 before launching on Fox Kids and for three seasons, there was nothing quite like it.

First Reactions To Hellboy Say It’s Pretty Bad, Story And Villain Are Lacking

It’s fair to say when it was first revealed that the Hellboy franchise was going to be rebooted and director Guillermo del Toro and star Ron Perlman wouldn’t get the chance to make a third film and complete their trilogy, fans of the Dark Horse comics character were pretty angry. The more we’ve learned about the project though, the more people’s opinions of it have begun to change and after Lionsgate showed off what was apparently a very impressive trailer at New York Comic Con, everything seemed to be on the right track.

Judging by the online reactions to it, everyone was pretty pleased with what they laid eyes on last month, and though the studio still hasn’t made it available online just yet, it seems that they’ve already begun test screening the film. However, unlike reactions to the trailer at Nycc, the response hasn’t been great,

"What happens in our business when you get too old?" Momentum Pictures has released the first official trailer for thriller titled Asher, yet another aging hitman must save his own life while he also saves another to redeem himself setup. The full cast includes Famke Janssen, Peter Facinelli, Richard Dreyfuss, Jacqueline Bisset, Guy Burnet, Blake Perlman, Marta Milans, Jay Hieron, and David Wohl.
