Harvey Weinstein Accuser Rose McGowan Doesn't Believe He'll 'Ever Be Prosecuted for Any Rapes'

Harvey Weinstein Accuser Rose McGowan Doesn't Believe He'll 'Ever Be Prosecuted for Any Rapes'
Rose McGowan believes that the man she accused of rape, Harvey Weinstein, will never face time behind bars — period.

“I don’t think Harvey Weinstein will ever be prosecuted for any rapes,” the actress and activist told Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

“You have to understand the judicial system is completely stacked against victims in any way, shape or form, in that most people cannot, in fact, seek justice that way,” added McGowan, 44, before going onto suggest that police officers, justices and judges should be specifically trained “in sexual assault, sexual harassment and abuse, so they can understand it more.

Ronan Farrow, New York Times Awarded Pulitzer Prize for Breaking Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Ronan Farrow, New York Times Awarded Pulitzer Prize for Breaking Harvey Weinstein Scandal
Ronan Farrow and New York Times writers Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey have been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for public service in recognition of their bombshell reports on Harvey Weinstein, which brought to light decades of alleged sexual misconduct and sexual assault.

The scandal surrounding the producer, which went on to launch the larger #MeToo movement and Time’s Up movements, began in October of last year, after Kantor and Twohey published a feature in The New York Times, in which eight women, including actress Ashley Judd, accused the actor of sexual harassment and assault.

Following the allegations, the movie

If You Were Creeped out By R. Kelly's Sex Cult, Here Are 6 Other Cults That Are Just As Effed Up

When allegations emerged a couple of months back about R&B singer R. Kelly (the "Ignition Remix" guy), we had a crap ton of questions. For one, whaaaat? And secondly, exactly how does one get sucked into a sex cult anyway? Surprisingly, it's more common than you think. And as much as we'd like to chuckle over the image of R. Kelly, the subject of so many hilarious Dave Chapelle sketches, strutting around like a cartoonish pimp, the reality is actually horrifying. Below, get to know six other cults that are even worse. Family International (Formerly Children Of God) Established in 1968 by some dude who called himself "Moses," this cult preached the usual hippie-dippy love that was typical of that era, splashed with some Old Testament ideas about women and their "place." The women were forced to participate in "Flirty Fishing," which was basically prostitution in the hopes of gaining converts through sex.

Asia Argento Writes Powerful Essay on Refusing to Be Silenced: ‘Women Around the Globe Are Fed Up’

Asia Argento Writes Powerful Essay on Refusing to Be Silenced: ‘Women Around the Globe Are Fed Up’
Asia Argento has written an op-ed for Women in the World in advance of her appearance at the 9th Annual Women in the World Summit in New York City. The essay directly addresses the #MeToo movement, which Argento has been a major advocate for over the last several months. Argento accused Harvey Weinstein of rape in an exposé written by Ronan Farrow and published by The New Yorker.

Agrento’s essay begins with the words: “Whore. Liar. Traitor. Opportunist.” The actress and filmmaker says that she has been called “all of these things and more” since accusing Weinstein last October. She writes that for speaking her truth she has been “slut-shamed, victim-blamed, bullied, and threatened on a daily basis.”

“Women everywhere, emboldened by the #MeToo movement, have had the courage to share their most painful private traumas in public only to face blanket denials and further assaults, this time on their character,

Red Sonja Remake Revs Back Up with X-Men: First Class Writer

Millennium Films is making another push to bring a new Red Sonja movie to the big screen, nearly a decade after it first started developing the remake. The production company has enlisted Ashley Miller (X-Men: First Class) to write the screenplay, although no director is attached at this time. Millennium Films' Avi Lerner is putting this on the fast track to production, after the massive success of Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman, which over performed at the box office last summer taking in $412.5 million domestic and $821.8 million worldwide. Here's what Miller had to say in a statement about coming aboard to write Red Sonja.

"It's an exciting opportunity to faithfully adapt the amazing Hyborean world Robert E. Howard created, and inject it with Sonja's intelligence, ferocity, and fearless humanity. I want people to love Sonja the way I love her, and walk out of the theater understanding why she's so popular and enduring.

The Film Adaptation of Red Sonja Moves Forward with the Writer of Thor and X-men: First Class

After the success of Wonder Woman, Millennium Films was excited about moving forward with their feature film adaptation of Robert E. Howard's Red Sonja. The production company has now hired screenwriter Ashley Edward Miller to write the screenplay. Miller has worked on projects such as Thor, X-Men: First Class, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and the upcoming remake of Big Trouble in Little China.

Red Sonja made her comic debut in Marvel’s Conan the Barbarian #23 back in 1975 from writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith. She was loosely based on Red Sonya of Rogatino in Robert E. Howard's 1934 short story "The Shadow of the Vulture."

Red Sonja is the greatest swordswoman of the Hyborean Age and more than a match for any man in combat. She has become the archetypal example of the strikingly beautiful warrior woman clad in her iconic bikini-like armor. I've been a fan of this character for years,

Weinstein Company Ends Non-Disclosure Agreements as Bankruptcy Ensues

The Weinstein Company not only filed for bankruptcy, but they've also ended all of the nondisclosure agreements they had between Harvey Weinstein and his sexual harassment accusers. Allegations against Harvey Weinstein first started coming to light in the fall of last year and, since then, many women have come forward to share their stories. However, quite a few were bound by the Nda's that the formerly powerful Hollywood figure made them sign. Those documents are no longer in place, which means all of his victims and accusers are free to tell their story and pursue any legal action.

This move did not come as a result of The Weinstein Company filing for bankruptcy, but was a move the company announced at the same time. Bob Weinstein, Harvey's brother who has been in charge of the company ever since Harvey exited, says that anyone who was bound by a confidentiality provision is free to speak.

Weinstein Company non-disclosure agreements ended by Jennie Kermode - 2018-03-20 15:31:08

Formally announcing the Weinstein Company's bankruptcy yesterday, Bob Weinstein announced that all the company's non-disclosure agreements with former employees should be considered 'cancelled', adding that it "expressly releases any confidentiality provision to the extent it has prevented individuals who suffered or witnessed any form of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein from telling their stories."

Non-disclosure agreements were a standard part of Weinstein Company employment contracts, but the company has acknowledged that they effectively enabled Harvey Weinstein to silence those accusing him of sexual misconduct. Rose McGowan has previously said that the terms of her Nda made it difficult for her to prove her claims against the producer, who stepped back from the company when the allegations broke last October.

"No one should be afraid to speak out or coerced to stay quiet," said Bob Weinstein in a statement. "The Company thanks the courageous individuals who have already come forward.
