Five Actors Who Could Play Lee Majors in a Biopic

News of new movie “The Six Billion Dollar Man” coming out next year has many remembering the original “bionic man”, Lee Majors. Warner Brothers announced the reboot of the popular 1970’s television show “The Six Million Dollar Man” will come to theaters in May 2019. Mark Wahlberg is set to play the action hero role that Majors made famous. Lee Majors was born in 1939 and grew up with family in Kentucky. His father died before he was born and his mother died before he was 2 years old. Majors played football at Eastern Kentucky University. Instead of pursuing a

Mark Wahlberg’s The Six Billion Dollar Man loses its director

Having set a May 2019 release date this past March, the long-gestating The Six Billion Dollar Man has hit another stumbling block with Deadline reporting that filmmaker Damian Szifron has left the project due to creative differences with Warner Bros.

Originally set up at Dimension before moving to Warner Bros., the big screen adaptation of the classic TV series The Six Million Dollar Man has spent many years in development, with Szifron boarding the project three years ago. The Wild Tales director was apparently let go due to issues with his script, and “a language barrier”.

Filming on The Six Billion Dollar Man was originally scheduled to get underway this summer ahead of a May 31st 2019 release date, so it remains to be seen whether Warner Bros. will look to bring in a new director to stick to that date, or reshuffle its plans once again.

In addition to Mark Wahlberg,

Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’ Loses Director Damian Szifron

Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Six Billion Dollar Man’ Loses Director Damian Szifron
Damian Szifron has departed the director’s chair on Mark Wahlberg’s sci-fi actioner “The Six Billion Dollar Man” due to “creative differences.”

Warner Bros. confirmed the departure on Tuesday. The studio bought the rights to the project late last year from the Weinstein Company, which had been developing the movie with Szifron — best known for directing the Argentinian drama “Wild Tales.”

Warner Bros. announced in March that it had set an early summer release date of May 31, 2019. The studio is seeking a replacement for Szifron.

The Six Billion Dollar Man” is based on the sci-fi TV series “The Six Million Dollar Man,” about a former astronaut, Colonel Steve Austin, portrayed by Lee Majors. Austin’s character, employed as a secret agent, had superhuman strength due to bionic implants. The series ran for five seasons on ABC between 1973 and 1978, and was based on Martin Caidin’s novel “Cyborg.”

Mel Gibson Eyes Mark Walhberg to Star in WWII Drama ‘Destroyer’ (Exclusive)

Mel Gibson Eyes Mark Walhberg to Star in WWII Drama ‘Destroyer’ (Exclusive)
Mel Gibson is eyeing his “Daddy’s Home 2” co-star Mark Wahlberg for a key role in his next directing project, the WWII drama “Destroyer,” TheWrap has learned.

Meanwhile, Gibson is circling a role opposite Wahlberg in Warner Bros.’ remake of the ’70s TV series “The Six Billion Dollar Man” — which is targeting a summer production start ahead of a release next summer and ahead of the “Destroyer” shoot.

Reps for Warner Bros., Gibson and Wahlberg declined to comment.

It’s not clear what role Wahlberg might play in “Destroyer,” which is based on the John Wukovits book “Hell From the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II’s Greatest Kamikaze Attack.”

The indie, which is targeting a fall production start, centers on the Battle of Okinawa in April, 1945 when the USS Laffey withstood 22 kamikaze attacks and earned the nickname “The Ship That Would Not Die.”

Gibson’s longtime girlfriend Rosalind Ross wrote the script. Gianni Nunnari’s Hollywood Gang Productions is producing “Destroyer,” which is not set up at any studio.

The Six Billion Dollar Man” is set to go into production this summer for release on May 31, 2019. The movie is based on TV show that made Lee Majors a star as well as the novel “Cyborg” by Martin Caidin.

The story follows military officer Steve Austin (Wahlberg), who becomes part of a top-secret government program after a horrific accident leaves him near death. With the help of cutting-edge technology, Steve is brought back to life with extraordinary abilities, making him the world’s first truly bionic man.

If Gibson joins the cast, it would be the first onscreen pairing since last winter’s “Daddy Home 2” in which Gibson and Wahlberg played father and son.

Damián Szifron, who wrote and directed Argentina’s Oscar foreign-language nominee “Wild Tales,” wrote the “Six Billion” screenplay and will direct.

Gibson is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson. Wahlberg is repped by Wme.

Ash vs Evil Dead: Canceled at Starz!!

The fun is about to end with El Jefe.

That's right, Starz announced today they will not be moving forward with a fourth season of one of the goriest and funniest series on television featuring Bruce Campbell as Ash "Ashy Slashy" Williams, a continuation to the successful Evil Dead movie franchise.

Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 will conclude with the finale on April 29.

From the moment Ash vs Evil Dead Season 1 began, Cambell and his costars Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo have been kicking Evil's ass (and each other's) while they've been covered in gallons of goo and no doubt had the times of their lives.

‘Ash vs Evil Dead 3×04: Unfinished Business’ Review

If Ash vs Evil Dead is to last then it needs to bring more to the screen than just fight scene of the week, and inventive ways to provide the gore that keeps fans happy. Unfinished Business is an episode that shows that not only can we have an episode heavy in exposition, but we can also have as much gore as we can possibly handle.

With Ash (Bruce Campbell) busy having a flashback with his ghostly father Brock (Lee Majors) it is up to Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) to make Brandy (Arielle Carver-o’Neill) see the good in her father. Ruby (Lucy Lawless) meanwhile makes new contacts in her quest to take down Ash.

What makes me happy about the third season of Ash vs Evil Dead is the fact that they realised Lee Majors as Ash’s father was such a good thing for the show. He’s lasted two episodes so far,

Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 Episode 4 Review: Unfinished Business

Enjoy your demon children while you can, they grow up so fast.

Ash took the fight to Ruby on Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 Episode 4 when he received some help from an unexpected visitor, while Kelly continued on in her search for Pablo after his sudden disappearance.

After Ash made chop suey out of his father's reanimated corpse following their skirmish on Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 Episode 3, I was pleased to find out that it wouldn't be the last time we would see papa Williams.

Ash: Nice try Ruby. You Think I'm stupid? Think I don't know my own father when I see him?

Brock: Poor Ashley. Life just keeps serving up the shit sandwich.

Isn't it cool to have Ashy Slashy's dad back in his Six Million Dollar glory?

In this exclusive clip of Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 Episode 4, Brock returns to help aid his son in his quest against evil. That's right -- Lee Majors is back, and he's better than ever!

Better ... stronger ... faster!

With Ruby's evil grasp on Elk Grove growing stronger with every passing minute, Ash and the gang are going to need every bit of help that they can get.

After "evil" Brock caused some problems for our pal Ash last week, it appears that this incarnation is the real deal, and it couldn't have happened at a better time.

‘Ash vs Evil Dead 3×03: Apparently Dead’ Review

If there is one thing we should know about horror films by now, it is never to have a funeral. This week’ Ash vs Evil Dead sees Ash (Bruce Campbell) try to make a good impression, with the usual disastrous results.

Brandy (Arielle Carver-o’Neill) tries to say goodbye to her mother this week at her funeral, but Ash’s attempt to be a good father end up in disaster. This gives Ruby (Lucy Lawless) the ammunition she needs to drive a wedge between the two. With Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), Pablo (Ray Santiago), and Dalton (Lindsay Farris) on away on an important mission, another surprising family member makes a return to the Ash household.

When Ash turns up at the funeral, I had flashbacks to Braindead (or as America know it Dead Alive). My instincts where right on this one, and we are presented with another fight scene that will be hard to forget.

Lee Majors Remembers His Bionic Days as 'The Six Million Dollar Man' (Exclusive)

Col. Steve Austin, astronaut, survived the catastrophic crash of a test vehicle, and even went up against Bigfoot without breaking a sweat. But now — at this moment in time — he actually looks nervous. And it’s not a nervousness born out of another mission that, given his bionically-enhanced arm, legs and eye, only he can pull off to save the world from destruction. These are the nerves of the actor who played him, Lee Majors, The Six Million Dollar Man himself, who is getting ready for his first appearance at a comic/media convention. “I’ve never done one before,” he admits to me not long before appearing at the the Wizard World Big Apple Comic Con in New York back in October of 2010. “I just hope they all like me… I don’t want the crazies.” He lets out a short laugh at that, but isn’t entirely convincing.

Interview: Dana DeLorenzo on Kelly’s Strength and Going Big in Ash Vs Evil Dead Season 3

  • DailyDead
While Ash was a Deadite-killing expert by the start of the Ash vs Evil Dead TV series, Kelly is in a very different place from when the series first began, and is now a blood-soaked veteran Deadite slayer in her own right. Continuing our interview series leading up to this Sunday's season 3 premiere on Starz, Dana DeLorenzo and I talked about her joining the Evil Dead family in the first season, playing off of Ash's antiquated views, and going big in the new season:

When the series was first announced, fans really didn’t know what to expect from Ash vs Evil Dead and its new characters. You and Ray [Santiago] have been such great additions to the Evil Dead family, and I watch the show for Pablo and Kelly as much as I do Ash.

Dana DeLorenzo: That's very generous of you to say, and thank you. I was truly terrified.
