Suri Cruise Is Old Enough to Understand Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' Divorce

She's getting older and wiser! Suri Cruise turned 12 years old this month, and that marks the fifth birthday that she celebrated without her father, Tom Cruise. Little Suri has been primarily raised by her mom Katie Holmes ever since her parents divorced in 2012 and now that the preteen isn't a little girl anymore, she's really come to terms with her family's dynamic after her parents' split. "She’s obviously old enough to understand what divorce is, and has to have accepted the fact that she’s in a single-parent family," an insider revealed to In Touch. While it's heartbreaking that Tom has not been a part of Suri's life for five years, that wasn't always the case. Tom was a doting daddy ever since he welcomed his first child with Katie, and he would gush about his little girl any chance he got. It seemed like he was willing to

Major Studios Will Need to Wrestle Disney to Get a Piece of Popcorn Season

Major Studios Will Need to Wrestle Disney to Get a Piece of Popcorn Season
Summer is just around the corner. That means that as temperatures rise, spandexed heroes, man-eating dinos and globe-trotting spies will soon be flooding multiplexes. The studios hope that a stream of would-be blockbusters such as “Deadpool 2,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Mission: Impossible — Fallout” will connect with audiences, lifting the box office to record heights.

“The big tentpole blockbuster movies are what get people to turn off their smartphones and get off their couch and go to the multiplex,” says Greg Foster, CEO of Imax Entertainment.

It’s all further evidence that by embracing a franchise-centric model, mainstream Hollywood long ago abandoned originality for familiarity, believing that having a Roman numeral in the title was the best way to preserve investments and keep the public coming back for more. But there’s a downside to the strategy.

The movie business hasn’t done a great job of replenishing the well.

We’ve always known how talented Leah Remini was and always thought her career would go the distance. The show’s renewal for a third season also marks a new relationship between Remini and the A&E network. Apparently, the network wants to build upon the reladstionship that they have cultivated with

'Rampage' Tops Weekend Box Office, but 'A Quiet Place' is Making the Most Noise

'Rampage' Tops Weekend Box Office, but 'A Quiet Place' is Making the Most Noise
It was nearly an upset at the weekend box office, but Warner Bros. and New Line's Rampage was able to hold off a strong second weekend from Paramount's hit horror/thriller A Quiet Place to take the weekend's #1 spot. But that doesn't discount the fact A Quiet Place is less than $400k shy of topping $100 million domestically after just ten days in release. Additionally, Blumhouse's Truth or Dare delivered a solid, third place debut. With an estimated $34.5 million, Warner Bros. and New Line's Rampage delivered a first place finish from 4,101 theaters. Looking at some of the comps we used heading into the weekend, this is a bit ahead of the $31.7 million opening for Tom Cruise's The Mummy last year, which went on to gross just over $80 million and an improvement over Dwayne Johnson's Hercules, which opened with $29.8 million in 2014 and grossed just over $72 million domestically. Looking ahead,

Simon Pegg Says Star Trek Cast Will Do Another Movie

Simon Pegg says “I know we’re doing more” when it comes to the question of whether the cast of the latest Star Trek franchise will reunite for another movie. Pegg has been a favorite with American audiences since the British actor and screenwriter’s breakthrough debut, the horror comedy Shaun of the Dead in 2004. One of the biggest fans he attracted was director J.J. Abrams, who cast him as the brilliant off-field technician Benji Dunn opposite Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt in the 2006 action hit Mission: Impossible III, and his character made such big impressions that he’s remained a big part of the Mission: Impossible franchise ever since.

Paul Thomas Anderson Doesn’t Understand How Quentin Tarantino Could Want to Retire After 10 Films

Paul Thomas Anderson Doesn’t Understand How Quentin Tarantino Could Want to Retire After 10 Films
When it comes to directing, Paul Thomas Anderson is in it for the long haul. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker made it clear during a discussion on “Phantom Thread” that he has no plans to retire from feature filmmaking in the future. “This is what I want to do as long as I’m able to do it,” Anderson said.

Anderson was responding to a question about how long directors can sustain a certain level of artistic dominance. The moderator noted that it’s hard for many directors to put together several decades of notable work, and yet somehow Anderson has managed to never fall off his peak. The director has been making features since 1996’s “Hard Eight,” and 22 years later his prominence has only gotten greater. “Phantom Thread” earned Anderson his second Oscar nomination for direction, among five other nominations this year.

“Apparently there was a kind of health report that

As a teenager, Duell dreamed of being an actor, although it took an encounter with Tom Cruise to inspire that particular goal — specifically a screening of his 2001 film Vanilla Sky! “After I watched it, the idea of acting came into my head,” he confided to Soaps In Depth. “It sounds funny to say it, but there was something about that movie. Tom Cruise actually did it for me. I liked his passion and raw energy. Emily Blunt movies: 12 greatest films, ranked worst to best, include ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ ‘Sicario,’ ‘Into the Woods’
2018 is promising to be quite a year for Emily Blunt. The British actress has received some of the best reviews of her career for the film “A Quiet Place,” which is directed by and co-stars her real-life husband John Krasinski (“The Office”). As a pregnant wife who helps to lead her family to safety by trying to outwit alien creatures by not making a sound, Blunt offers a nearly silent performance with acting registering mostly with her face, a bold move that could result in awards attention later in the year.

The ‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ Sequel Doesn’t Sound Like It’s Coming Any Time Soon

Edge of Tomorrow,” aka “Live. Die. Repeat.,” was a surprise on a number of levels when it was released back in 2014. First, it was yet another example of Tom Cruise never aging, and still being one of the most bankable A-listers around. Second, it proved that “The Bourne Identity” director Doug Liman still had some juice left in him after the not-so-awesome “Jumper.” And finally, it showcased that Emily Blunt is a certified badass.

Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Are Glad They Weren’t Cast in the McU

A Quiet Place stars and real-life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are glad they weren’t cast as Captain America and Black Widow in the McU. The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies could have been very different, had Tom Cruise played Iron Man or Jason Momoa been cast as Drax – two things that came close to actually happening. Even after some actors signed on for the McU, they were eventually replaced with different performers (see War Machine and The Hulk for the most noteworthy examples).
