Fox still developing new 24, but no plans for more X-Files

During Fox’s upfronts this week, the network has confirmed that 24 creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran and executive producer Howard Gordon remain in development on a new iteration of the real-time drama series, but there are no plans for a third season of The X-Files revival.

Late last year, it was rumoured that 24 was being reinvented as a legal thriller, with the show following a female prosecutor who uncovers a legal conspiracy during the countdown to the execution of a death row inmate who she helped to convict.

Fox’s chairman Dana Walden would not comment if this plot was accurate, but stated that “we are very excited about where the show would go.”

As for The X-Files, chairman Gary Newman stated that: “Not only is there no plan, there hasn’t been a single conversation. It’s been a great show for the network but there are no

The supporting cast consists of Sam Heughan (Outlander), Justin Theroux (The Girl on the Train), and Gillian Anderson (X-Files). I think that with Kunis and McKinnon as stars, this movie has a great chance at giving us a few laughs. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.

There Are No Plans For The X-Files Season 12

For those of you who were hoping for another season of The X-Files, I've got some bad news for you. Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn recently confirmed that there "are no plans to do another season at the moment."

I'm kinda bummed out by this news because I actually enjoyed having the series back in my life. I know not everyone cared for the revival, but I actually enjoyed it. I'm sure some people will be happy to learn that it has been canceled.

This is probably it. We'll most likely never see a new episode of The X-Files or a film again. At least we got two new seasons, which I never expected to happen in the first place, so that's a plus.

I'm not surprised The X-Files got canceled, though. Viewership was down and co-star Gillian Anderson said that she wasn't going to return to the series. Those

The X-Files: Cancelled? Season 12 Possible But Not Coming Soon

When Gillian Anderson announced she was done with the series -- ahead of the season 11 premiere -- we knew this day was coming. The X-Files TV show on Fox is cancelled, at least for now, Deadline reports. To be fair to the network, they were clear the revival was for limited 10th and 11th seasons. However, all is not lost. While Chris Carter has said that, while he never imagined the series without Anderson as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully, he is open to future seasons, with or without her. A Fox sci-fi mystery thriller, The X-Files also stars David Duchovny as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder. Together, Mulder and Scully investigate unexplained or “X-Files” cases — which have answers involving paranormal phenomena. Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Lauren Ambrose, Robbie Amell, Veronica Cartwright, Chris Owens,

Fox says that there are no plans for more X-Files at the moment

  • JoBlo
As a huge fan of The X-Files, I was thrilled when the series was revived for a six-episode season back in 2016. Sure, it wasn't quite the triumphant return to form which many of us had hoped, but it was great to see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their iconic roles of Mulder and Scully. As the season ended on one hell of a cliffhanger, it was assumed that the series would be back... Read More...

Gillian Anderson Just Trolled Fox Over ‘X-Files’ Cancellation

Gillian Anderson Just Trolled Fox Over ‘X-Files’ Cancellation
In perfect Dana Scully fashion, “The X-Files” star Gillian Anderson dryly demolished one explanation for why there won’t be a 12th season of the show.

After TVLine’s Michael Ausiello tweeted an article explaining that Fox didn’t intend to make a 12th season due to Anderson’s exit from the series, Anderson responded, “Well Michael, the truth is…after exit of 77% of viewership.”

The show’s ratings for its 11th season have been dismal, with the show’s finale even failing to compete with prior episodes in the season and earning only a 0.8/4 rating and 3.4 million viewers.

Anderson departed the show after the revived 11th season and the show’s creator Chris Carter has said

The X-Files: Canceled?

It sounds like there's no The X-Files without Gillian Anderson after all.

Ever since Anderson confirmed she would be leaving the sci-fi drama behind for good after The X-Files Season 11, there were questions about whether the show could continue without her.

“It’s been a great show for the network, but there are no plans to do another season at the moment,” said Fox co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman in a conference call with reporters on Monday morning.

While that's not an outright cancellation, it makes sense. The X-Files Season 11 averaged 3.7 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49.

The figures are not great, but demo tally was down almost 70 percent vs. The X-Files Season 10. It's not exactly a good trajectory for an aging series.

Fox Has “No Plans” to Bring Back ‘The X-Files’

During a conference call today to reveal Fox's fall schedule (and beyond), Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group, were asked about the future of The X-Files revival and a potential Season 12. Newman replied that "there are no plans to do another season at the moment," which seems in line with the feelings of the cast and creators. In January during the Television Critics Association Press Tour, Gillian Anderson told us that "there are lots of things that I want to do in my life and career. The Future of The X-Files: Fox Has "No Plans" For More Episodes (At the Moment)

The Future of The X-Files: Fox Has
The truth may still be out there, but more episodes of The X-Files aren't. In a conference call, Gary Newman confirmed what many X-Files fans had speculated after Gillian Anderson declared the second event series of 10 episodes was her last. "There are no plans to do another season at the moment," Fox's Newman told reporters while discussing Fox's 2018-2019 TV schedule. Anderson said she was done playing Special Agent Dana Scully following the most recent season, leading many fans to believe this would be it for the series that also stars David Duchovny. Series creator Chris Carter previously told E! News that he always plans the end of a season as if it was the end of the show. "I...

X-Files: Fox Has 'No Plans' for a Season 12 Following Gillian Anderson Exit

Fox is shutting down The X-Files — for now at least. In a conference call with reporters early Monday, network co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman revealed that “there are no plans to do another season at the moment.” His remarks come two months after the conclusion of the show’s 11th season, which leading lady Gillian Anderson previously announced would be her last.

In the wake of The X-Files’ Season 11 finale, series creator Chris Carter told TVLine, “I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be more X-Files, in some shape or form. I think there are lots more stories to tell and ways to tell them.

‘Lucifer’ Canceled, ‘The X-Files’ Won’t Be Back, But More ‘Prison Break’ and ’24’ Reboots in the Works: Fox Execs Explain All
The X-Files” have been closed again — at least for now. Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn confirmed on Monday that there are no plans to do another season at the moment.

The news doesn’t come as a complete surprise, as star Gillian Anderson has previously said she was saying farewell to the show. On the “Prison Break” front, Fox is moving forward on another revival, although that is still “in the early stages of development. We’re focusing on getting the next iteration right.” There’s no immediate announcement. Ditto “24,” as executive producer Howard Gordon is developing new ideas, including one with original creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran.

As for the decision to cancel “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden said the decision was “based on a variety of factors,” including the fact that the addition of Thursday Night Football limited their shelf space, “and we didn

Second Trailer for 'The Spy Who Dumped Me' with Kunis & McKinnon

"This is insane! Have you ever felt so alive?" Lionsgate has debuted the second official trailer for the buddy comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon as best friends who get into some spy trouble. The title is a riff on the classic James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me (released 1977). The plot involves the two women getting caught up in a deadly spy conspiracy with assassins on their tail, and even though he's her ex-boyfriend, they're still going after them. This trailer is a more conventional action movie trailer, and I still prefer the Bond song riff for the first teaser. Justin Theroux co-stars as the titular "spy", with Gillian Anderson, Ivanna Sakhno, Sam Heughan, and Hasan Minhaj. This does look a little too absurd, and a little too cheesy, maybe it could be entertaining? Let's hope it's not a disaster. Here's the
