- DirectorRobert EggersStarsLily-Rose DeppNicholas HoultBill SkarsgårdA gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.It seems like Dracula and vampires are taking over the release calendar that used to be dominated by superhero movies. 'Abigail' is coming in April. There’s a 'Salem’s Lot' remake coming to streaming in 2025. Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are making a top secret thing. Luc Besson has a more sympathetic take on Dracula in production. But if there’s any reason to remake 'Nosferatu,' we’re happy the project was at least trusted to Robert Eggers, the most obsessively detailed director since David Fincher. Eggers reteams with Willem Dafoe, who broke a section of the internet when we learned he was returning to the tale he immortalized in 'Shadow of the Vampire.' We’ll forever wonder what the version of the movie with Anna Taylor-Joy would have been like – she dropped out of the production to make 'Furiosa,' with Lily-Rose Depp taking the role as she quickly puts "The Idol" behind her. Dafoe has said the reels he’s watched are visually like nothing he’s seen before – real fires, real rats, and more. To be honest: this is the only movie we really want for Christmas this year.
In theaters - DirectorOsgood PerkinsStarsTheo JamesElijah WoodSarah LevyWhen twin brothers Bill and Hal find their father's old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths start. The siblings decide to throw the toy away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years.Director Oz Perkins is wasting no time after the success of his sleeper hit Longlegs with this adaptation of a Stephen King short story. Unlike his previous film, The Monkey has a decidedly comedic tone. According to Perkins, “if you want to reduce it, it’s the haunted toy or evil toy subgenre, and I couldn’t imagine doing a serious one of those.” Theo James (“The Gentlemen,” “The White Lotus”) stars, with a supporting cast including Tatiana Maslany and Elijah Wood.
In theaters Feb. 21, 2025 - DirectorDanny BoyleStarsAaron Taylor-JohnsonJack O'ConnellRalph FiennesA group of survivors of the rage virus lives on a small island. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors. In real life, it will have been only 23 years since Danny Boyle's not-zombie film 28 Days Later, but you'll hear no complaints from us. Boyle returns to direct this sequel written by frequent collaborator Alex Garland (who wrote the original). Also coming back: Cillian Murphy, who's joined by castmates Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes.

The director is back with a new Universal monsters reboot, poised to inject some new life into the werewolf genre.

In theaters March 7, 2025 - StarsJovan AdepoBill SkarsgårdTaylour PaigeIt will follow the events in the 1960s, the time leading up to the events of the first film in the Stephen King It series. Here's a question we have about this prequel series set in the scariest town in the Stephen King multiverse: Who would have played Pennywise if Bill Skarsgård didn't finally agree to haunt the sewers once again as the shapeshifting, dancing clown? Filming on the series had commenced before Skarsgård’s return was announced by HBO and Andy and Barbara Muschietti, who hope the origin series is as well received as It Chapter One and, of course, the original miniseries that stills haunts us 90s kids. Heading back to the 1960s alongside Skarsgård in his first post-Nosferatu role will be Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, James Remar, and regular visits from Madeleine Stowe.

Expected in theaters Sept. 5, 2025 - DirectorKevin WilliamsonStarsIsabel MayMckenna GraceNeve CampbellPlot unknown. In our hearts, the only thing left for 'Scream' to pull off is a way to bring Casey Becker back to life. If you aren't aware of all the behind-the-scenes drama that's gone down between 'Scream 6' and the development of its sequel, from strike-related delays to losing both of the franchise's newly minted franchise stars — Melissa Barrera for her outspoken political views, and Jenna Ortega over a salary dispute — the decision-makers shelled out for Neve Campbell's beloved Sydney Prescott to come out of hiding after her salary-related fracas caused us to miss out on her 'Scream 6' return. It's unclear at this time if the script will bleed out of the events of the last movie, but the current storyline lends itself to a direct sequel. Kevin Williamson, the creator and writer who somehow never directed one of the movies until now, takes over for the Radio Silence duo who successfully revived the franchise. We're expecting a 2026 release date to coincide with 30 Years of Ghostface.

Available to rent or buy - DirectorCoralie FargeatStarsDemi MooreMargaret QualleyDennis QuaidA fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself.Filmmaker Coralie Fargeat (Revenge) breeds The Shining with Society to spawn a body horror with brains that plays like a fish-eyed ad campaign for how amazing it is to be Margaret Qualley. She plays Sue, an idealized iteration of fallen superstar Elisabeth Sparkle, who is Demi Moore in what could be her best performance ... ever? It’s certainly her most fearless and shocking to date. Upon turning 50, Sparkle is fired from her primetime aerobics slot, so she turns to the mysterious Substance that promises Fountain of Youth results if only a few simple rules are obeyed. And just like nobody can help but feed a Mogwai after midnight, directions are NOT followed as we fall down a nightmarish rabbit hole of women’s beauty standards, aging in Hollywood, and a blood-soaked finale that will delight iron-stomached cinephiles and Gwar concert-goers alike. It’s not subtle filmmaking whatsoever, in fact Fargeat is striking a piano with fists made of concrete. But, we adore the tune she’s playing.

- DirectorDamian Mc CarthyStarsCarolyn BrackenJohnny FrenchSteve WallA psychic medium attempts to uncover the truth behind her sister's murder at the site of the crime. Is Oddity the Talk to Me of 2024? This Irish horror features a creepy wooden mannequin and is drawing comparisons to the Philippou brothers’ breakout hit from last year. But aside from being a relic-based horror film, the similarities pretty much end there. Director Damian Mc Carthy ('Caveat') has crafted a fun and spooky supernatural thriller about a blind medium who uses the wooden man to solve the mystery of her twin sister’s death. At the world premiere at SXSW, 'Oddity' had the audience jumping, screaming, and sometimes laughing as McCarthy’s assured direction kept everyone on their toes. Definitely a theater-worthy experience.
