Vanessa Rubio shares with IMDbPro her best advice for aspiring actors, lessons learned on the set of Cobra Kai, and more! 3 of 6
IMDbPro: Do you have any mentors? How did you meet them and what have they taught you?
Vanessa Rubio: I don’t know if I have any mentors specifically, but I have great teachers and friends. My acting teacher, Alan Langdon, changed my approach to acting completely for the better. He taught me to have respect for myself and my experiences, and to always go deeper to find the truth in any given script or story. I am forever grateful to him. I met him through another actress I waited tables with in New York City. My agent, Jon Mason at Buchwald, has believed in me from the start and has taught me the art of meaningful check-ins. My manager, Jennifer Wiley-Stockton, is my rock when it comes to work and has shown me what it is to be a woman with power and vision in this business. I also consider myself a perpetual student, I constantly learn from the people I work with.
