A *beep* of a film if ever I've saw one. Imagine having a late night argument with LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT only to discover that said LAST HOUSE was actually the brick sh*thouse you've always feared. Unique and highly disturbing with a social commentary that floors.
3. Wilczyca (1983)

Hard to find Polish flick that plays like an old BBC horror adaptation with unique narratives thrown in to make it something else.
4. Baby Blood (1990)
R | 82 min | Horror
When a strange creature crawls into a woman's uterus she becomes a killer in order to feed the tiny terror growing within her.
Okay its flawed for sure, but any film that comes across as a bad-drug-cocktail of Jodorowsky's SANTA SANGRE and most of Lynch's output is well worth a watch. Interesting move to have the female lead naked for most of the film, something that slowly begins to unnerve.
5. Splatter: Naked Blood (1996)
Unrated | 76 min | Horror, Sci-Fi
A scientist taints his mother's scientific experiment with his own drug that transforms pain into a pleasurable experience. Unfortunately for the three women involved in the experiment, the drug works a little bit too well.
Most of Sato's stuff could go on here, but NAKED BLOOD might be his most accessible......might be. Incredible make-up effects and a trippy narrative make for a fantastic horror experience.
6. Litan (1982)
88 min | Horror
Nora and Jock arrive in the strange village of Litan during the Festival of the Dead.
A film that channels Rollin's best work. Unique and dreamlike. It also recalled that out-of-place village bit in HOWLING 2 which was an odd experience to say the least. Just saying.
7. Ebola Syndrome (1996)
Not Rated | 98 min | Crime, Horror
A restaurant employee wanted for murder contracts Ebola by raping a woman in South Africa and starts an outbreak there and in Hong Kong when he returns home.
It took me an age to finally getting round to watching this, expecting something completely different. My oh my, what a film. Wong is everything good I'd always heard about. Essential viewing with surprisingly tons of depth considering the much grindhouse elements at play.
8. Home Movie (II) (2008)
R | 77 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller
In the remote woods of Upstate New York, David and Clare Poe are attempting to live an idyllic life. However, their twin children's bizarre behavior might just tear the family apart.
I'm a sucker for a found footage, but this one is one of the best. Sinister and not afraid to be taboo. This just pushes out NOROI:THE CURSE as me fave FF flick.
9. Strange Circus (2005)
108 min | Drama, Horror, Mystery
The erotic novelist Taeko is writing a morbid story of a family destroyed by incest, murder and abuse. Her assistant, Yuji, sets on a mission to uncover the reality of this story, but the reality might be too much to bear.
Sion Sono can't do much wrong, even when the odd film is poor, there's usually a ton of stuff that is original. STRANGE CIRCUS though is an absolute stunner. Original, unnerving, and deeply affecting, his best film by far.
10. The Manson Family (1997)
R | 95 min | Crime, Drama, History
A dramatization of the horrific and notorious Manson Family Murders, in the form of super 8 home movies.
Votes: 2,957 | Gross: $0.02M
The short by Van Bebber did the rounds on 3rd/4th generation tapes decades ago, but the resurrection of this into full feature blew me away. One of my favourite underground films ever, that its even released still amazes me to this day. Its arguably also one of the best takes on the family you can found, authentically any road.
11. Amsterdamned (1988)

A hard-boiled police detective sets out to capture a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the canals of Amsterdam.

R | 91 min | Crime, Horror, Sci-Fi
A New York detective investigates a series of murders committed by random New Yorkers who claim that "God told them to."
Cohen's early film is a WTF-is-this sort of film. Amazing and breathtakingly original.

Not Rated | 85 min | Adventure, Horror, Mystery
5 Norwegians head for a cabin in the wilderness for a few days of team building. But strange things start happening - especially down by the water where they find an abandoned tent. Is there someone else?

15. Satan's Slave (1976)
R | 86 min | Horror
A young girl is caught up in a devil cult run by her evil uncle and cousin. She can trust no one and even people she thought were dead comes back to haunt her.
Amazing British chiller from Norman J Warren. As much as I love the horror of Pete Walker, its this Warren gem of similar production and atmospherics that wins out.

Not Rated | 99 min | Horror
After escaping from an insane asylum, a medical student assumes the identity of a mysterious dead man, who appeared to be his doppelganger, and gets lured to a sinister island ruled by a mad scientist and his malformed men.
What can be said about THE HORROR OF MALFORMED MEN? Just experience it. Its incredible.
19. Sexandroide (1987 Video)
51 min | Horror
A monstrous madman slowly mutilates poor young girls.
Had to include this. Its probably one of the worst on the list, but by far the most bizarre, Tina Turner and all.
20. Giallo a Venezia (1979)
91 min | Crime, Horror, Mystery
In Venice a detective is on the trail of a killer who commits a double murder (a married couple) then more grisly killings occur. Sex, drugs, gore and perversions are ingredients of this sadistic and sleazy giallo.
Nasty piece of giallo bonkers. See this on the big screen with the sound turned up and it might just send you insane.
21. Awakening of the Beast (1970)
93 min | Drama, Horror
Psychiatrist experiments LSD on 4 volunteers, to investigate Coffin Joe's influence over them. Each patient presents a different reaction, involving sex, perversion and sadism.
My favourite Coffin Joe. Granted I was altered at the time in tandem with the films narrative, but it is an odd experience regardless.
22. Squirm (1976)
PG | 92 min | Horror
A storm causes some power lines to break and touch the ground, drawing millions of man-eating worms out of the earth, and into town where they quickly start munching on the locals.
Just pips BLUE SUNSHINE as me fave Lieberman film. At first glance, all comes across as a conventional nature runs amok flick, but theres tons at play, and some very odd dialogue to boot.
23. The Living and the Dead (2006)

24. Jack the Ripper (1976)
R | 87 min | Drama, Horror, Thriller

Uncle Jess gives is a classy take on the Ripper mythos. Its a brilliant film with Kinski in fine form.
25. The Girl Next Door (2007)
R | 91 min | Crime, Drama, Horror
Based on the Jack Ketchum novel of the same name, The Girl Next Door follows the unspeakable torture and abuses committed on a teenage girl in the care of her aunt...and the boys who witness and fail to report the crime.
Not read the Ketchum novel but this is disturbing to say the least.
26. H (1990)
94 min | Drama
