A *beep* of a film if ever I've saw one. Imagine having a late night argument with LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT only to discover that said LAST HOUSE was actually the brick sh*thouse you've always feared. Unique and highly disturbing with a social commentary that floors.

Hard to find Polish flick that plays like an old BBC horror adaptation with unique narratives thrown in to make it something else.

Director: Alain Robak | Stars: Emmanuelle Escourrou, Christian Sinniger, Jean-François Gallotte, Roselyne Geslot

Votes: 1,306

Okay its flawed for sure, but any film that comes across as a bad-drug-cocktail of Jodorowsky's SANTA SANGRE and most of Lynch's output is well worth a watch. Interesting move to have the female lead naked for most of the film, something that slowly begins to unnerve.

5. Splatter: Naked Blood (1996)

Votes: 1,747

Most of Sato's stuff could go on here, but NAKED BLOOD might be his most accessible......might be. Incredible make-up effects and a trippy narrative make for a fantastic horror experience.

A film that channels Rollin's best work. Unique and dreamlike. It also recalled that out-of-place village bit in HOWLING 2 which was an odd experience to say the least. Just saying.

Votes: 3,369

It took me an age to finally getting round to watching this, expecting something completely different. My oh my, what a film. Wong is everything good I'd always heard about. Essential viewing with surprisingly tons of depth considering the much grindhouse elements at play.

I'm a sucker for a found footage, but this one is one of the best. Sinister and not afraid to be taboo. This just pushes out NOROI:THE CURSE as me fave FF flick.

Votes: 4,681

Sion Sono can't do much wrong, even when the odd film is poor, there's usually a ton of stuff that is original. STRANGE CIRCUS though is an absolute stunner. Original, unnerving, and deeply affecting, his best film by far.

The short by Van Bebber did the rounds on 3rd/4th generation tapes decades ago, but the resurrection of this into full feature blew me away. One of my favourite underground films ever, that its even released still amazes me to this day. Its arguably also one of the best takes on the family you can found, authentically any road.
