1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
PG-13 | 136 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
As Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.
Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo | Stars: Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford
Votes: 738,753 | Gross: $259.77M
Gorgeous storytelling and upredictable plot that made even one of the most boring characters in the MCU amazing. Best handling of Black Widow and although Falcon is inaccurate, he is very well-written. The only weakness is the sometimes too over-the-top fight choreography.
2. WandaVision (2021)
TV-PG | Action, Comedy, Drama
Blends the style of classic sitcoms with the MCU in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision -two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives-begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Stars: Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris
Votes: 52,062
By far the most imaginative entry in the MCU. The balance between jokes and references is handled so well. Furthermore, the references are not just for the sake of references and keep you speculating throughout.
3. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
PG-13 | 147 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Political involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.
Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo | Stars: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan
Votes: 666,516 | Gross: $408.08M
Easy to empathise with both parties and motives. One of the best portrayals of characters' abilities. Great handling of all the characters, with Black Panther and Spider-Man better written than for their respective films.
4. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
PG-13 | 149 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans
Votes: 840,395 | Gross: $678.82M
Amazing gathering of all characters and one of the longest screentimes for a villain at the same time. Lack of character development is not an issue, as all the characters are already very well-developed. It is not a tremendous accomplishment for the MCU only but film history in general.
5. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
PG-13 | 181 min | Action, Adventure, Drama
After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe.
Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth
Votes: 818,812 | Gross: $858.37M
I do not agree with everything happening in the film; no matter what, this is on another level. I neither believe any film has accomplished something this large-scale nor have I ever encountered myself or any audience get hyped and teary this aberrantly. This is how a series pays off, by making you eager to watch all 21 films end to end the moment you step out of the cinema.
6. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
PG | 117 min | Animation, Action, Adventure
Teen Miles Morales becomes the Spider-Man of his universe, and must join with five spider-powered individuals from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.
Directors: Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman | Stars: Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali
Votes: 378,785 | Gross: $190.24M
Unique comic book-like style, great storytelling, and amazing use of a great number of superheroes and villains. Gets slow and then becomes absurd until the end, but breathtaking overall.
7. X: First Class (2011)
PG-13 | 131 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
In the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them.
Director: Matthew Vaughn | Stars: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Bacon
Votes: 646,795 | Gross: $146.41M
Best X-Men film with splendid performances from McAvoy and Fassbender. A great origin story with many new characters that work quite well.
8. Spider-Man 2 (2004)
PG-13 | 127 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Peter Parker is beset with troubles in his failing personal life as he battles a brilliant scientist named Doctor Otto Octavius.
Director: Sam Raimi | Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, James Franco
Votes: 545,410 | Gross: $373.59M
Inner conflict and amazing fight scenes against a well-written villain well executed in a single film.
9. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
PG-13 | 132 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.
Director: Bryan Singer | Stars: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy
Votes: 661,425 | Gross: $233.92M
Great transitions between the future and the past. Although Mystique is one of my favourites, Jennifer Lawrence's fame modifying the entire plot despite logic keeps me annoyed throughout the film.
10. X2: X-Men United (2003)
PG-13 | 134 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attacks his school, the X-Men must ally with their archenemy Magneto to stop him.
Director: Bryan Singer | Stars: Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen
Votes: 512,688 | Gross: $214.95M
Complex and therefore sometimes confusing plot. A very important story arc that is well executed along with building up for the next film.
11. The Avengers (2012)
PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Earth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity.
Director: Joss Whedon | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner
Votes: 1,263,682 | Gross: $623.28M
Bit overrated, as it gets really slow in the middle. The gathering of everyone and the action are breathtaking for the time, but the plot is too mainstream and nothing special.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
PG-13 | 136 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
The Guardians struggle to keep together as a team while dealing with their personal family issues, notably Star-Lord's encounter with his father the ambitious celestial being Ego.
Director: James Gunn | Stars: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel
Votes: 572,563 | Gross: $389.81M
Slow and repetitive at times, but characters feel more relatable now. Making Yondu's death the most impactful in the entire MCU is saying something.
13. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
PG-13 | 121 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
A group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe.
Director: James Gunn | Stars: Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana
Votes: 1,046,350 | Gross: $333.18M
They made a talking raccoon and a walking tree with three words work. A less believable story even than Thor, but it works much more smoothly.
14. Spider-Man (2002)
PG-13 | 121 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When bitten by a genetically modified spider, a nerdy, shy, and awkward high school student gains spider-like abilities that he eventually must use to fight evil as a superhero after tragedy befalls his family.
Director: Sam Raimi | Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe, James Franco
Votes: 689,479 | Gross: $403.71M
Very good adaptation of one of the most compelling and classic origin stories of all time, though the Green Goblin is a bit inaccurate.
15. Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
PG-13 | 129 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.
Director: Jon Watts | Stars: Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Marisa Tomei
Votes: 326,993 | Gross: $390.53M
A very fun film overall without any major flaws. Although expected, the plot goes in the right directions. However, the intention to keep the scale small slightly exceeds the limit and I would have wished the illusion battle was at the very end instead or repeated, because that would not have lost its originality even if repeated a dozen times.
16. Iron Man Three (2013)
PG-13 | 130 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.
Director: Shane Black | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle
Votes: 757,848 | Gross: $409.01M
Such a good film when you lack background knowledge. A brave plot with the decision on Mandarin to make things unpredictable. Nevertheless, the inaccuracy and humour are sometimes off-putting.
17. X-Men (2000)
PG-13 | 104 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
In a world where mutants (evolved super-powered humans) exist and are discriminated against, two groups form for an inevitable clash: the supremacist Brotherhood, and the pacifist X-Men.
Director: Bryan Singer | Stars: Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen
Votes: 571,893 | Gross: $157.30M
Solid adaptation for its time. Magneto is one of the most iconic villains in history.
18. Deadpool (2016)
R | 108 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
A wisecracking mercenary gets experimented on and becomes immortal but ugly, and sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks.
Director: Tim Miller | Stars: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein
Votes: 905,406 | Gross: $363.07M
Unique, but the humour is not for everyone, especially if you are not from the US and do not know all the mentioned people. Otherwise very low-quality plot, villains, and CGI that would not have survived if it was not for the humour.
19. Thor (2011)
PG-13 | 115 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
The powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.
Director: Kenneth Branagh | Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston
Votes: 749,569 | Gross: $181.03M
Underrated. Well-written origin story with accurate locations and costumes. Thor is on point, and outstanding performance by Hiddleston and Hopkins. Nice soundtrack. However, portrayal of the supportive cast is weak, CGI is not as convincing at times, and the quality of both the choreography and dialogue gets really low for some reason during the final fight.
20. Ant-Man (2015)
PG-13 | 117 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Director: Peyton Reed | Stars: Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly
Votes: 572,603 | Gross: $180.20M
Very well executed despite the physics-defying superpowers and minimal action. Such a unique final fight, yet the villain is very poorly written and is basically Obadiah Stane with the same powers as the superhero.
21. Daredevil (2003)
PG-13 | 103 min | Action, Crime
A man blinded by toxic waste which also enhanced his remaining senses fights crime as an acrobatic martial arts superhero.
Director: Mark Steven Johnson | Stars: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, Michael Clarke Duncan
Votes: 206,838 | Gross: $102.54M
Underrated. The director's cut is a solid origin story with iconic music and praiseworthy choreography for its time. However, character development and relationships are rushed. Still one of the most relatable superheroes of Marvel.
22. Black Panther (2018)
PG-13 | 134 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
T'Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future and must confront a challenger from his country's past.
Director: Ryan Coogler | Stars: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira
Votes: 628,337 | Gross: $700.06M
Overrated. Black Panther is more interesting in Civil War and is overshadowed by literally everyone in the film. Very simple and predictable plot. Wakanda's perspective did not make sense in the first place, which does not make Killmonger a good villain but Wakanda less relatable. The worst CGI in the MCU; however, by far the best soundtrack.
23. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
PG-13 | 133 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.
Director: Jon Watts | Stars: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei
Votes: 515,759 | Gross: $334.20M
Best actor and worst screenwriting for Spider-Man. The suit becomes more off-putting with techs. Overrated, extremely inaccurate villain but nice performance.
24. Iron Man (2008)
PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
After being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil.
Director: Jon Favreau | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges
Votes: 942,512 | Gross: $318.41M
Overrated. Very solid origin story and great build-up for Obadiah Stane, but it is clichéd and boring when the villain gets the same powers as the hero. Moreover, he is one of the most forgettable in the MCU.
25. Logan (2017)
R | 137 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi
In a future where mutants are nearly extinct, an elderly and weary Logan leads a quiet life. But when Laura, a mutant child pursued by scientists, comes to him for help, he must get her to safety.
Director: James Mangold | Stars: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook
Votes: 650,480 | Gross: $226.28M
Overrated. Nice Western style, but the plot is too simple and from the 00's. Very clichéd superpowers and an identical villain. Because it is the only unpredictable aspect of the plot, death of Professor X makes a much larger impact than does Wolverine's.
26. Spider-Man 3 (2007)
PG-13 | 139 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
A strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge.
Director: Sam Raimi | Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church
Votes: 500,783 | Gross: $336.53M
Underrated. Sandman is handled quite well. The villains do not feel exhausting, but Venom is underused. Peter Parker IS cringeworthy but is supposed to.
27. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
PG-13 | 142 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When New York is put under siege by Oscorp, it is up to Spider-Man to save the city he swore to protect as well as his loved ones.
Director: Marc Webb | Stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti
Votes: 417,980 | Gross: $202.85M
One of the best chemistries on screen and original use of dubstep. Wrong Electro. Too many villains. Floppy ending.
28. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
PG-13 | 141 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.
Director: Joss Whedon | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth
Votes: 745,712 | Gross: $459.01M
Vision is OK, but Quicksilver is not well-introduced to make an impact and Scarlet Witch is just Jean Grey. Black Widow and Hulk are a horrible couple. Hawkeye's story is just to compel haters. The villain is too powerful and also incredibly weak, which makes the plot look floppy and absurd. Lots of small problems all over the place.
29. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
PG-13 | 104 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
The human government develops a cure for mutations, and Jean Gray becomes a darker uncontrollable persona called the Phoenix who allies with Magneto, causing escalation into an all-out battle for the X-Men.
Director: Brett Ratner | Stars: Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen
Votes: 483,541 | Gross: $234.36M
Underrated. The vaccine subplot is enjoyable, but the Phoenix subplot is misplaced and underused. Kills characters just for the sake of a finale.
30. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
PG-13 | 136 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
After Peter Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider-like powers and ventures out to save the city from the machinations of a mysterious reptilian foe.
Director: Marc Webb | Stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan
Votes: 559,979 | Gross: $262.03M
No main problem but nothing that stands out either. Mostly because the Daily Bugle is missing, Spider-Man feels unpopular and weak. The least memorable Spider-Man film.
31. Deadpool 2 (2018)
R | 119 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
Foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool), brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy with supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling cyborg Cable.
Director: David Leitch | Stars: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison
Votes: 481,984 | Gross: $324.59M
Very fun film with nice references at times and exhausting humour at others. Very clichéd and weak plot that even copies Days of Future Past, a film in the same franchise.
32. The Wolverine (2013)
PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Wolverine comes to Japan to meet an old friend whose life he saved years ago, and gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving yakuza and mutants.
Director: James Mangold | Stars: Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima
Votes: 430,733 | Gross: $132.56M
Quite original plot. Enjoyable but serious lack of well-known characters and references makes the film very forgettable.
33. Captain Marvel (2019)
PG-13 | 123 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
Directors: Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck | Stars: Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law
Votes: 447,464 | Gross: $426.83M
The film is fine in general except for the pacing that is sometimes off. However, Captain Marvel’s strength does not make you watch in awe but instead makes most threats meaningless and the film having no impact on the audience at all.
34. Thor: The Dark World (2013)
PG-13 | 112 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
When the Dark Elves attempt to plunge the universe into darkness, Thor must embark on a perilous and personal journey that will reunite him with doctor Jane Foster.
Director: Alan Taylor | Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård
Votes: 597,893 | Gross: $206.36M
The fantasy world is difficult to believe at times. One of the worst and underwritten villains in the MCU. An unsatisfying journey throughout that can be recalled as OK due to the ending.
35. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
PG-13 | 112 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Bruce Banner, a scientist on the run from the U.S. Government, must find a cure for the monster he turns into whenever he loses his temper.
Director: Louis Leterrier | Stars: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt
Votes: 435,308 | Gross: $134.52M
Feels like this film belongs nowhere. Forgettable and forgotten by pretty much everyone. Simple plot. Unimaginative and boring fight scenes. How difficult can it be to understand he is bulletproof?
36. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
PG-13 | 118 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
As Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.
Director: Peyton Reed | Stars: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Walton Goggins
Votes: 312,124 | Gross: $216.65M
An average Hollywood film that you go see with your friends to have a fun time. Pretty much it. Repetitive and weak plot. Very simple and unsatisfying introduction of the Quantum Realm. Too many Ant-Men and Wasps with personality traits not enough for even one.
37. Iron Man 2 (2010)
PG-13 | 124 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
With the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy.
Director: Jon Favreau | Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle
Votes: 724,808 | Gross: $312.43M
Only serves as a mediocre introduction to Black Widow and War Machine. Otherwise pointless with almost no impact on the MCU. The palladium subplot is dumb and dull. Quite possibly the worst villain in the MCU in terms of all aspects imaginable.
38. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
PG-13 | 107 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
The early years of James Logan, featuring his rivalry with his brother Victor Creed, his service in the special forces team Weapon X, and his experimentation into the metal-lined mutant Wolverine.
Director: Gavin Hood | Stars: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Danny Huston
Votes: 468,367 | Gross: $179.88M
A fine film if you do not know anything about Marvel. Deadpool, Gambit, and Blob are the most horribly wasted characters in the whole franchise.
39. Doctor Strange (2016)
PG-13 | 115 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
While on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts.
Director: Scott Derrickson | Stars: Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong
Votes: 601,040 | Gross: $232.64M
Very clichéd superhero origin story with practically the same character as Tony Stark. Being an enormous Potterhead since the beginning of time, magic here does not feel real or imaginative at all. Same uncreative effects over and over again and it is still just a fistfight with sparkles.
40. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
PG-13 | 124 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Steve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a war monger and a terrorist organization.
Director: Joe Johnston | Stars: Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Samuel L. Jackson, Hayley Atwell
Votes: 743,074 | Gross: $176.65M
Solid origin story for Captain America, but he is very boring to begin with.
41. Fantastic Four (I) (2005)
PG-13 | 106 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
A group of astronauts gain superpowers after a cosmic radiation exposure and must use them to oppose the plans of their enemy, Doctor Victor Von Doom.
Director: Tim Story | Stars: Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba
Votes: 312,012 | Gross: $154.70M
Works at times but nothing that stands out overall. A poor adaptation that would not make anyone a F4 fan.
42. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
PG | 92 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
The Fantastic Four learn that they aren't the only super-powered beings in the universe when they square off against the powerful Silver Surfer and the planet-eating Galactus.
Director: Tim Story | Stars: Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis
Votes: 251,153 | Gross: $131.92M
Nothing too horrible but nothing that stands out either. A screenplay written around a very simple plot.
43. Venom (2018)
PG-13 | 112 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
A failed reporter is bonded to an alien entity, one of many symbiotes who have invaded Earth. But the being takes a liking to Earth and decides to protect it.
Director: Ruben Fleischer | Stars: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze
Votes: 362,568 | Gross: $213.52M
The low quality is very evident and does not feel professional. Very solid start with a fine villain at first, which is later rushed like everything else. Quite shocking how everything goes downhill once Venom shows up.
44. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
PG-13 | 144 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
In the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world.
Director: Bryan Singer | Stars: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult
Votes: 394,373 | Gross: $155.44M
Fan fiction quality. Never a good idea to have an overpowered villain and even a worse idea to write a screenplay without knowing what to do with him in the end. Characters we already know with less personality and worse portrayal, no logic behind motives, bad CGI. Magneto's story is the only solid part of the film.
45. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
PG-13 | 130 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
Imprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.
Director: Taika Waititi | Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo
Votes: 590,974 | Gross: $315.06M
Fan fiction quality. Literally a complete joke rather than a Marvel film. The most serious story arc shot as the most absurd comedy in the MCU. Funny suits Stark and Starlord, not a demigod witnessing his father and brother die, eye gouged out, and homeland destroyed.
46. X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)
PG-13 | 113 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix, causing the X-Men to decide if her life is worth more than all of humanity.
Director: Simon Kinberg | Stars: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult
Votes: 156,888 | Gross: $65.85M
Nothing about this is original. Mutants are good; nope, they’re bad. We need Magneto; nope, he’s bad; wait, he’s OK. Jennifer Lawrence’s unwanted presence. You know something is wrong when scenes intended to give you goosebumps make you beg for it to end instead.
47. Ghost Rider (2007)
PG-13 | 110 min | Action, Fantasy, Thriller
When motorcycle rider Johnny Blaze sells his soul to the Devil to save his father's life, he is transformed into the Ghost Rider, the Devil's own bounty hunter, and is sent to hunt down sinners.
Director: Mark Steven Johnson | Stars: Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Sam Elliott, Matt Long
Votes: 223,910 | Gross: $115.80M
Alright pace at times and nothing to be enthusiastic about overall. Quite bad acting. Extremely forgettable.
48. Elektra (2005)
PG-13 | 97 min | Action, Adventure, Crime
Elektra the warrior survives a near-death experience, becomes an assassin-for-hire, and tries to protect her two latest targets, a single father and his young daughter, from a group of supernatural assassins.
Director: Rob Bowman | Stars: Jennifer Garner, Goran Visnjic, Will Yun Lee, Kirsten Zien
Votes: 87,527 | Gross: $24.41M
More of a random, unsatisfying Hollywood film with no point, which you could peek at while zapping at 2am. Does not justify or have anything to do with Elektra.
49. Fantastic Four (2015)
PG-13 | 100 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Directors: Josh Trank, Stephen E. Rivkin | Stars: Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell
Votes: 152,885 | Gross: $56.12M
Unbelievably poorly written. No hype, no build-up, amazingly absurd villain that takes 10 minutes to introduce and defeat.
