Set the bar very high for the Batman franchise. The best Batman movie in history.

Votes: 1,355,173 | Gross: $448.14M
Most movies in a trilogy don't live up to the hype, but The Dark Knight Rises was a top movie.
3. Batman Begins (2005)

After training with his mentor, Batman begins his fight to free crime-ridden Gotham City from corruption.
Votes: 1,165,725 | Gross: $206.85M
Erases the bad memories of Batman and Robin by rebooting the Batman franchise.
4. Batman (1989)
PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Adventure
The Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being the clownishly homicidal Joker.
Votes: 307,083 | Gross: $251.19M
I used to like Batman as a kid. Michael Keaton made a good Batman, and Jack Nicholson made an awesome Joker. Sure it's a bit dated now, but still enjoyable for nostalgic purposes.
5. Batman Returns (1992)
PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Crime, Fantasy
When a corrupt businessman and the grotesque Penguin plot to take control of Gotham City, only Batman can stop them, while the Catwoman has her own agenda.
Votes: 247,874 | Gross: $162.83M
Good story and good villains. This was a big deal watching this as a kid given it was M rated. I'm surprised McDonald's promoted this movie.
6. Batman Forever (1995)
PG-13 | 121 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Batman must battle former district attorney Harvey Dent, who is now Two-Face and Edward Nygma, The Riddler with help from an amorous psychologist and a young circus acrobat who becomes his sidekick, Robin.
Votes: 216,348 | Gross: $184.03M
Good but not great. I liked Val Kilmer as Batman and Chris O Donnell as Robin. Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones were far too camp as villains.
7. Batman: The Movie (1966)
PG | 105 min | Adventure, Comedy, Crime
The Dynamic Duo faces four supervillains who plan to hold the world for ransom with the help of a secret invention that instantly dehydrates people.
I liked this movie as a little kid. I even liked the TV show as a little kid. It's camp and very corny, but at least it's way better than Batman and Robin which I will sink the boot into below...
8. Batman & Robin (1997)
PG-13 | 125 min | Action, Sci-Fi
Batman and Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.
Votes: 214,267 | Gross: $107.33M
The worst Batman movie in history. The worst sequel in movie history. Also one of the worst movies in history. George Clooney did not make a good Batman. They could have chosen ANYONE but Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr Freeze. The entire screenplay was poor. The only redeeming feature was the Smashing Pumpkins song The end is the beginning is the end. I liked that song as a 13 year old.
