What can I say about "The Evil Dead". The first time I saw this it freaked me out! It's a cheesy movie with cheesy FX (albeit gory) but it's so stylishly made it's irresistible. A classic!

Okay, "Demons" is badly acted and badly dubbed but there's no denying it's a lot of fun. Great heavy metal soundtrack and tonnes of gore certainly help.

One of the best vampire movies ever made in my opinion. Funny, witty, scary, with some great mid 80's special FX. A true gem in the genre.

Not a great movie but for some reason I have fond memories of this movie. It is fun, which most 80's movies seem to be, even when they're bad. Maybe because it's a Wes Craven movie? Or maybe it's because we get to see a young, pretty Kristy Swanson as one of the main characters? I guess I'll never know ;)

Ahh the memories of "Trick or Treat. I must have seen this movie over a dozen times in the eighties during my Heavy Metal music phase. This movie is lots of fun with a great hard rock soundtrack from Fastway. Watch for Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons in cameos!

More of a thriller than a horror but "Stepfather" is a chilling movie. Terry O'Quinn is fantastic as the stepfather.

No 80's horror movie list should be without "The Lost Boys". Not exactly a true "horror" movie as the entire movie has a real fun tone to it, with some memorable comedic lines. Another vampire movie on my list that is a true classic.

One of several John Carpenter movies on this list. "They Live" is just a fun Horror/Sci-Fi flick that doesn't have a boring part in the entire movie. A very different take on the alien genre... and Rowdy Roddy Piper is great as the hero.
