Toronto started with a tribute to film critic Roger Ebert and the festival team cited him for helping to put them on the map. Accepting a plaque with his name on it, that will be installed in one of the chairs in the TIFF Bell Lighthouse, Roger's wife, Chaz, said, "Before I came out I actually felt that he is here. And knowing Roger, he’s probably lurking about somewhere in here because he wants to see the movie we’re going to see after."
