Star Trek: Odyssey Class (Potential Cast)

A potential new Star Trek series. I used the Star Trek Online Enterprise-F crew characters as a cast. Below is a description of the proposed series from STO...

"It is an Odyssey-class Federation starship launched in 2409. The Odyssey Class Development Project was based in San Francisco Fleet Yards in Earth's orbit. Like the Galaxy class, the Odyssey class vessels are capable of saucer separation.

Following the destruction of the USS Belfast, Captain Shon and many of the other surviving crew members of that ship were reassigned to the newly launched starship Enterprise."

One would hope any real show that was put together would feature a few more unknown actors but that's never fun for the purposes of these kinds of lists so I didn't do that. The character descriptions were taken from STO then embellished and manipulated upon by me. Enjoy!

1. Titus Welliver

Actor | The Town

Titus Welliver was born on March 12, 1961 in New Haven, Connecticut. His father was a famous landscape painter, Neil Welliver. His mother was a fashion illustrator, Norma Cripps. As: Captain, Va'Kel Shon (Male Andorian)

Shon is a Starfleet officer who was a captain in command of the USS Belfast before he commanded the USS Enterprise-F. He intended to turn down the offer to command the Enterprise-F, as he felt that Captain Wesley Crusher should take command of the newly commissioned ship. After meeting with Wesley, he changed his mind and accepted when Captain Crusher encouraged him to take the command.

Shon's command of the Enterprise led the Andorians to feel that they had returned to prominence in the Federation. Shon takes his responsibility as a prominent Andorian in the Federation very seriously as he has been training for this position his whole life. An expert in Andorian martial arts and specializing in interstellar diplomacy as well as tactical command Captain Shon is bound by a the need to test all limits of his crew, himself, and the mission.

As: Executive Officer, Commander Samuel Winters (Male Human)

Winters is a Starfleet officer who was first officer of the USS Belfast before joining Captain Shon on the USS Enterprise-F. Winters is a fourth-generation member of Starfleet. He entered Starfleet Academy as soon as he was eligible to do so.

He served as an engineering officer before being encouraged by Admiral Jorel Quinn to take up command. For a long time he served as an aide to Admiral Quinn at Earth Spacedock before being assigned as first officer of the USS Belfast. Commander Winters is a Starfleet officer through & through. They say before he learned to read he was quoting the Starfleet manual.

He is a homosexual man who was born in Australia but was raised on starships. A deeply suspicious man who often advises his Captain towards the safest action. No one knows more about the perils of space travel than Samuel from his experience growing up in Starfleet and witnessing first hand many conflicts, first contacts, and dangerous missions. He spends his spare time reading and has a predilection towards avian creatures like his pet Andorian snow sparrow that was given to him by Captain Shon.

As: Chief Medical Officer, Commander Savel (Male Vulcan)

Savel chose a medical career over a career in science since he found serving others was not only "the greatest achievement that a being can aspire to", but also compassion for others inherently logical. He served on eight starships, six of them as chief medical officer. On each assignment, Savel has encountered patients who found his bedside manner lacking. Although he could, he refuses to change his attitude in the name of professionalism. He often disagrees with Captain Shon and was very surprised, after serving with him on the USS Belfast, when Shon asked him to join the USS Enterprise-F crew.

As a child, Kav never thought about leaving Betazed or joining Starfleet. When she was 17, her parents and younger brother died in a shuttle crash and she decided to make the most out of the life by helping others. However, this childhood tragedy left her very quite and reserved for a daughter of Betazoid. During the first six weeks at Starfleet Academy she considered leaving several times but ultimately stayed.

As: Chief Engineer: Lieutenant Kirayoshi O'Brien (Male Human)

Kirayoshi is the second child of Miles and Keiko O'Brien and was born aboard Deep Space 9. He has an older sister named Molly. Kirayoshi's name was often shortened to "Yoshi." Kirayoshi was presumably named partly after his surrogate mother, Kira Nerys. Yoshi's root meaning is "good" and is used as a prefix/suffix in names. "Yoshi!" is also said in a way meaning "Yes! All right! Good!"

By 2409, O'Brien had joined Starfleet and held the rank of lieutenant. He was assigned as a member of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers where he specialized in helping officers upgrade their equipment. Kirayoshi was the only member of the USS Enterprise-F Bridge crew who did not serve aboard the USS Belfast. Her background is extremely mysterious which she often plays up by telling contradicting stories from her youth.

Her beauty is renown on many planets. She has had relationships with several prominent figures from her quadrant. She has incredible reflexes and teaches Captain Shon & Lieutenant Jirelle her own unique mixture of Klingon, Andorian & Caitian martial arts.
