The Toy Story Series
Ahh, Toy Story! This little Disney/Pixar animation came to our lives in 1995 and apparently it will never leave us! Neither will us leave it.
The fact that Pixar is constantly working in something new about this universe, even with the end of the postcard Trilogy is proof enough of how much these characters got our hearts and minds.
And I'm a huge fan of them as well. So let's take a quick look at them here in chronological order.

- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom. The very first movie. The beginning of an epic and funny story that we'll never leave behind, much like Andy will always carry his toys in his memory.
We can let go, leave them and move forward, but the memories will always be there. The will to be something more than we are, to go to infinity and beyond, to ride on and accomplish great deeds in great ways. And also to grow up and learn more about ourselves. That's what it's all about. - StarsWallace ShawnJim HanksJeff PidgeonA series of short vignettes featuring the characters from the first "Toy Story" film. These are a series of short animations that Pixar released in 1996 without necessarily following the continuity between the first and second movies, they were 0:14 to 1:00 minute very, very short animations that aired on television at that time, just little teasers to keep people interested in the movie series.
- DirectorsJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye. The sequel. Oddly as it might be, it's as good as the first movie and has a lot of pop culture references as well.
- DirectorTad StonesStarsTim AllenNicole SullivanLarry MillerBuzz Lightyear must battle Emperor Zurg with the help of three hopefuls who insist on being his partners. This is a good animation too and I'm certain that people from all ages will enjoy it. If in Toy Story 2 we learned more about Woody and his series, then now it's time for us to check on the Buzz show. And it delivers! The series is also very nice, and if you have time to spend, check it out.
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.It all ended here... kinda... sorta... OK, it didn't really, well, not in a way, but as far as conclusions go, this is the perfect and fitting conclusion for a perfect trilogy! And a wonderful and touching goodbye from these amazing characters!
- DirectorGary RydstromStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys throw Ken and Barbie a Hawaiian vacation in Bonnie's room. The first short from the Toy Story Toons series that started after the ending of the movie trilogy. Fun to watch!
- DirectorAngus MacLaneStarsTom HanksTim AllenJohn RatzenbergerA fast food restaurant mini variant of Buzz forcibly switches places with the real Buzz and his friends have to deal with the obnoxious impostor. The second short. Here Buzz is abducted by toys from a fast food restaurant. Funny and riveting, these shorts don't get the story to move anywhere forward, but they certainly keep this universe very much alive and breething.
- DirectorsMark A. WalshDylan BrownStarsTom HanksTim AllenWallace ShawnWhen Rex finds himself left behind in the bathroom, he puts his limbs to use by getting a bath going for a bunch of new toy friends. The third and most recent short. In this one, Rex became a party pooper. It's up to him to make ammends by having a party in the bathroom with bathinbg toys. Also fun, but not on par with the other ones.
- DirectorAngus MacLaneStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWoody and the gang are held up at a roadside motel and members of the group start to disappear. Woody sets about getting to the bottom of the mystery.Nice short. This one is even bigger than the previous ones, it was made for TV and it's an interesting and funny way to explore horror themes into an animation. Another nice short Toy Story tale by Pixar.
- DirectorSteve PurcellStarsTom HanksTim AllenKristen SchaalIt's a post-Christmas play-date and the toys have to go up against the fearsome and aggressive new dino toys.Another one and the most recent 22:00 minute short from the Toy Story series to air on ABC TV. It shows Bonnie going to somebody's house to spend the day and the toys find out some new friends with a similar problem that Buzz had in the very first movie. It's nice, because it reminds us how good it was to be a kid in old times and play with our toys without having to rely on videogames and other forms of electronic entertainment. Worth the watch.
- DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.Can it be?? Well, there are rumors, anyway. Let's stay tuned.
UPDATE: It's on! It's in the process of being made right now and John Lasseter will direct it. Can't wait for it!!
