Surprisingly, a lot of great films came out of 1991. And that's a good thing. All of these films stood out above the rest, they define what movies are made for. These films were awarded film awards, well received by critics, and had a good box office run. Here are the best films of 1991. Enjoy!

Anthony Hopkins is a master in his role as Hannibal Lector. He makes this movie enjoyable. Jodie was good too, but the spotlight belongs to Hopkins.

Bates goes from a naughty nurse in Misery to a not-so-evil role as Evelyn Couch. She has yet another good performance. I don't think it lives up to her performance as Annie Wilkes, but great nonetheless. Everyone in this film is fantastic. The movie is fantastic as a whole.

5. Beauty and the Beast (1991)

If The Lion King didn't come out in 1994 this would be the greatest Disney film ever. Some people argue that this is the greatest. It depends on what you like. But Beauty and the Beast is a beast of a movie with beautiful animation and wonderful music by the famed Alan Menken.

A movie about firefighters and the brave men and women who save lives everyday. Starring Kurt Russell and Alec....I mean William Baldwin. Yes, William Baldwin ladies and gentlemen. And he is as good as any Alec Baldwin performance. I love this movie and gives good recognition to all firefighters out there.

7. Frankie and Johnny (1991)
