Directors: Chris Butler, Sam Fell | Stars: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Tucker Albrizzi

Votes: 88,294 | Gross: $56.00M

AWESOME FILM. It had the story of an adults point and delivered with children in mind in the sense that the plot was indeed quite deep. Very well scripted and played, keeps you wanting more.

2. Monsters University (2013)

G | 104 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

65 Metascore

A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at Monsters University -- when they weren't necessarily the best of friends.

Director: Dan Scanlon | Stars: Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Helen Mirren

Votes: 297,402 | Gross: $268.49M

It started off really slow but as soon as the plot was played in it got better and better. Highly enjoyable.

Director: Henry Selick | Stars: Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman, Jennifer Saunders

Votes: 180,848 | Gross: $75.29M

The music, especially the jazz section was used so effectively. It is a rough take on down the rabbit hole but still a fresh idea. The more times i watch this film the more in enchants me.

4. Rango (2011)

PG | 107 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

75 Metascore

Rango is an ordinary chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town of Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff.

Director: Gore Verbinski | Stars: Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Timothy Olyphant, Abigail Breslin

Votes: 218,989 | Gross: $123.48M

A Verbinski joint coupled with Zimmer and Depp. Nicely themed, set and spoke in that dialect. The whole plot of a deserted Gecko out of water was very apt for this. Didn't really recognise Depp's voice until I made myself listen. Orchestral Owls and the other musicians were cool, in fact the music throughout reminded me of Rodriguez and it was quite epic for the a western, it really worked. This film was lol funny, it was clever as an adult would appreciate it more especially considering the mystical/spiritual aspect of it.

5. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

PG | 87 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

83 Metascore

An urbane fox cannot resist returning to his farm raiding ways and then must help his community survive the farmers' retaliation.

Director: Wes Anderson | Stars: George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman

Votes: 179,796 | Gross: $21.00M

This was one of my favourite books of my childhood and so glad that the film was a good watch. Good comedy with a difference and how it was shot complimented that. The actors portrayed it well and worked well off each other but I think that's part due to a fantastic script. Nice touch with the wolf also, that was quite atmospheric for an animation.

6. Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)

PG | 90 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

67 Metascore

Po and his friends fight to stop a peacock villain from conquering China with a deadly new weapon, but first the Dragon Warrior must come to terms with his past.

Director: Jennifer Yuh Nelson | Stars: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman

Votes: 233,040 | Gross: $165.25M

As like the 1st, great morals and personality traits and a great Pac Man scene. It got better with deepness as the story unravelled. Real all star cast of a difference. Sweet film, not as exciting as the 1st but that doesn't take away the fact that it was a great sequel.

7. Rio (2011)

Votes: 194,019 | Gross: $143.62M

Didn't know what to expect and with us being inundated with animations it was difficult to please us all. but I enjoyed this. I don't know if it was the music, but I do think they had good characters. Better than most in these few years, I would watch again. Watched it again, funny, didn't enjoy it much this time round.

8. Up (2009)

Directors: Pete Docter, Bob Peterson | Stars: Edward Asner, Jordan Nagai, John Ratzenberger, Christopher Plummer

Votes: 861,449 | Gross: $293.00M

From growth to death it drew me in to sympathize and empathize. Realistic depiction of the atypical elderly. Even though it was the usual tornado that trapped them, you forgive cause of the sweetness of the start. So funny, the little kids whole body was the same size as the old man's head! Squirrel - lol. After they landed is where I lost interest. I was a good story though!

9. Planet 51 (2009)

PG | 91 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Directors: Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad, Marcos Martínez | Stars: Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott, Jessica Biel, Justin Long

Votes: 47,919 | Gross: $42.09M

I did like the look of the civilians and that they were the ones looking for life. Johnson was the voice for the astronaut's character so why wasn't he ethnic?! A fun watch that's all.

Directors: John Lasseter, Bradford Lewis | Stars: Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer

Votes: 142,970 | Gross: $191.45M

The spy stuff was good specially with Caine's voice but I do love the backwards truck, great character. Quite a deep plot for an animation.

11. Despicable Me (2010)

72 Metascore

Directors: Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud | Stars: Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews

Votes: 470,980 | Gross: $251.51M

Very cool rap music at the start and good spy music throughout especially the baseline. Vectors ship reminded me of the Camino planet in Episode 2. Should the girls really have gone into vectors place alone for obvious reasons! It was a sweet film but was all too obvious without having an edge.

12. Escape from Planet Earth (2013)

35 Metascore

Astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS from a notoriously dangerous alien planet.

Director: Cal Brunker | Stars: Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, Rob Corddry

Votes: 23,550 | Gross: $57.01M

Can't remember, will watch again. Do remember that it was kinda forgettable.

A big Tim Burton fan but gotta admit I don't think I enjoyed this at all, quite dull but will watch again for a refresher.

Votes: 189,138 | Gross: $124.87M

Crazy plot, no great laughs but easy watching.

Votes: 524,599 | Gross: $400.74M

Didn't realise it was a Disney musical, not really into these but interested to watch as it was a Hans Christian Anderson. I will say the true love sequence was a real revelation cause of its sweet difference. Not my thing, but it was watch-able for me.

16. Wreck-It Ralph (2012)
