by Ed_Jones_XLIX | created - 21 Dec 2018 | updated - 21 Dec 2018 | PublicTV vs. Radio. Longtime friends. Music's best friends. The Energizer Bunny would have a hard time keeping up with these two. Dick Clark was on air in Philadelphia with a Local show that we all know as Bandstand (1952)later to be called American Bandstand. From 1952 in TV's Golden Era, Clark brought us the newest in music and helped usher in the Rock and Roll Era and was on the air for 27 seasons.
Casey Kasem hosted the original American Top 40 on Radio from its inauguration on July 4, 1970 until August 6, 1988.
Casey was also a voice-over artist. He was the voice of Shaggy Rogers, on "Scooby-Doo" and the voice of Robin on the "Super Friends" cartoons.
