In this version, Danny is a high school junior. His parents have already been through the process of college applications with their older daughter Jazz Fenton, but eleventh grade Danny just can't seem to get his CAT score or his grades high enough to make the scholarship he needs. On top of it all, over the summer he got ghost powers, adding vigilante activities as Danny Phantom to his to-do list.

Along with the secret of his ghost powers, Danny has also been out to his family and friends as trans since he was seven- but he has to keep that hidden from his classmates, as he attends school pretending to be a cis boy.

Sam Manson

Vegan, bisexual, Jewish, Aries, goth, activist. All words Sam would use to describe herself. Between protests and punk rock concerts, Sam finds herself helping out her friends- especially her crush, Danny, who she is still a bit in denial about liking.

Tucker Foley

Tucker had his future planned out, down to the most minuscule detail, about how he'd go to college, major in computer science, date a bunch of girls now that he was an upperclassman- and it's all thrown for a spin when his best friend gets ghost powers, and Tucker has to step up to the plate as the guy who's the best with technology, and thus the best at working with and repairing the Fentons' ghost hunting equipment.

Valerie Gray

Valerie used to have it all, the life of one of the popular, rich, it-girls at Casper High, but also had an extremely high intellect unlike her peers Paulina and Star seemed to have. Her father's connections at his lab, Valerie's smarts, and their affluence seemed to all lay out a wonderful life ahead of her- until a ghost accident at her father's work cost him his job. Now, Valerie only sees ghosts as harmful, horrific creatures- and when a mysterious benefactor gives her advanced ghost hunting equipment, Valerie dons her new masked suit and anonymously hunts all ghosts with extreme prejudice- including Amity Park's so called "guardian ghost," Danny Phantom. Things just seem to get more complicated, though, when she gets a crush on Danny Fenton.

Maddie Fenton

Life is hard for a working mother- you have to raise the kids, clean the house, cook the meals, and assemble ghost fighting technology in your basement. With a degree in both engineering and biochemistry, a black belt in taekwando, and certificates in advanced self-defense courses, Maddie Fenton is a force to be reckoned with- unfortunately, due to her obsession with ghosts, she often focuses her vast array of skills towards studying them and fighting them off, to such a degree she can become oblivious to the threats right under her nose- namely college friend-turned-billionaire Vlad Masters, who's come back into the Fentons' life and is so generously offering to pay for Danny's college tuition.

Jazz Fenton

Jazmine Fenton is the smartest girl you know. She's a university freshman, and with the amount of AP and dual enrollment credits she had when starting college, she's projected to graduate early, which is just fine for her, which means she can move on to grad school and becoming a psychologist that much more quickly.

However, things are thrown for a loop when she comes home for Thanksgiving and discovers Danny's ghost powers, learning that her parents haven't exactly exaggerated the threat that ghosts can pose to the human world. Now, between her papers and exams, Jazz has taken up boxing and self defense lessons- her baby brother isn't going to fight off supernatural threats all alone.

Vlad Masters/Plasmius

Vlad was Jack Fenton's best friend in college, and intended to one day marry Maddie- but that all changed when a mistake by Jack left Vlad with a horrible case of ecto-acne, hospitalizing him for years. While the world moved on around him, Vlad suffered alone, developing both the ghost powers his halfa status offered him and a keen sense of bitterness. He's intent on pursuing Maddie, and discovers she and Jack have had children, and that their son is a halfa. Seeing the opportunity for both vengeance on Jack and the companionship he so desperately craves, Vlad is willing to go to extreme lengths to steal the family he wants, no matter the cost.

Danielle Phantom

Dani was created by accident, when Vlad was studying his and Danny's halfa DNA. They lived relatively happy for a short period, until Dani discovered Vlad's taste for villainy. Learning what type of a person her father was, Danielle fled to the one other person in the world she knew of, Danny Fenton.

Paulina Sanchez

Paulina is a lot of things- pretty, popular, rich- but dumb isn't one of them. Sure, she's not book smart, but she's people smart, an adept manipulator, and well aware of how to get what she wants. This is to the benefit of her friends, but not so much to those who cross her- namely her goth arch-enemy Sam Manson.

The one thing she wants that she just can't seem to get is the heart of that mysterious ghost boy who saved her from another ghost over the summer.

Kwan

Kwan would really like to convince himself that he's a good guy, but sometimes, when he and Dash are wailing on some scrawnier targets, he doesn't really feel like one.

What's a girl who died at twenty-two before her rock career could get off the ground to do? Use her new powers to become the beloved, praised, powerful celebrity she always wanted to be, of course!

Sidney Poindexter

Being bullied in life sucks. Suicide sucks. The after life sucks. Not finding much cause for any happiness around him, the ex-Casper High sophomore decides to dedicate his life to tormenting the bullies of his old high school to make life a bit easier on the other kids, but looking at it from an outsiders' perspective sometimes leads to some mix-ups.

Star wishes for a lot of things: Wishes to be as popular as Paulina, wishes to be as rich as Paulina, wishes to kiss Paulina. Wait, what was that last part? For now, she contents herself to date Kwan while Paulina occupies herself on and off with Dash while pining for the ghost boy, but wishes she could see the attractive, loyal girl right in front of her.

Jack is a guy that cares for his family more than anything in the world, but who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and thus easily distracted by his interest in ghosts. He'd do anything for Maddie and his kids- something Vlad continually underestimates.
