1. Glass (2019)

PG-13 | 129 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

41 Metascore

Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has twenty-four personalities.

Director: M. Night Shyamalan | Stars: Anya Taylor-Joy, James McAvoy, Sarah Paulson, Bruce Willis

Votes: 4,306

As a fan of M. Night Shyamalan's first 2 films, it has been pretty disappointing to see him fall so far from grace. He even managed to take a steaming dump over one of my favorite shows with "The Last Airbender".

However, the twist at the end of "Split" revealed that he has been planning his anticipated sequel to cult-favorite "Unbreakable". Now, "Glass" will finally be the film that we've been waiting for.

2. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)

PG | Animation, Action, Adventure | Completed

It's been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.

Directors: Mike Mitchell, Trisha Gum | Stars: Jason Momoa, Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Stephanie Beatriz

As a fan of the first film, I'm curious to see how this will pan out.

3. Cold Pursuit (2019)

R | 118 min | Action, Drama, Thriller | Completed

A snowplow driver seeks revenge against the drug dealers he thinks killed his son. Based on the 2014 Norwegian film 'In Order of Disappearance'.

Director: Hans Petter Moland | Stars: Emmy Rossum, Liam Neeson, Laura Dern, Tom Bateman

This is yet another Liam Neeson movie about him killing people, but at least this one seems to acknowledge how ridiculous it is.

4. Alita: Battle Angel (2019)

122 min | Action, Adventure, Romance | Post-production

An action-packed story of one young woman's journey to discover the truth of who she is and her fight to change the world.

Director: Robert Rodriguez | Stars: Rosa Salazar, Mahershala Ali, Jennifer Connelly, Eiza González

As a fan of James Cameron, I am excited (yet heavily cautious) about "Alita: Battle Angel". It looks like it could be pretty fun, but some of the acting from the trailers is pretty bleh. One can only hope.

5. Happy Death Day 2U (2019)

PG-13 | Horror, Mystery, Thriller | Completed

Tree Gelbman discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.

Director: Christopher Landon | Stars: Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Suraj Sharma

The trailers look pretty funny, and I hope this can stick the landing.

6. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)

PG | 104 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

83 Metascore

When Hiccup discovers Toothless isn't the only Night Fury, he must seek "The Hidden World", a secret Dragon Utopia before a hired tyrant named Grimmel finds it first.

Director: Dean DeBlois | Stars: Gerard Butler, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Kit Harington

Votes: 2,301

I absolutely LOVED the first 2 films, and I hope this final entry can possibly be the best in the series.

7. Us (II) (2019)

Horror, Thriller | Post-production

A mother and father take their kids to their beach house, expecting to enjoy time with friends, but their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some visitors arrive uninvited.

Director: Jordan Peele | Stars: Elisabeth Moss, Lupita Nyong'o, Anna Diop, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Academy Award-winning "Get Out" was quite a debut for Jordan Peele. While "Us" doesn't look like an Oscar contender, it looks like a terrifying horror movie that I don't think I'll actually be able to watch in theatres.

8. Shazam! (2019)

Action, Adventure, Fantasy | Post-production

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's case, by shouting out one word - SHAZAM! - this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.

Director: David F. Sandberg | Stars: Zachary Levi, Michelle Borth, Mark Strong, Djimon Hounsou

I'm very excited, and very cautious, to see this DCEU film.

(Excited because it looks funny as hell. Cautious because it's a DCEU movie.)

9. Pet Sematary (2019)

Horror, Thriller | Post-production

Louis Creed, his wife Rachel and their two children Gage and Ellie move to a rural home where they are welcomed and enlightened about the eerie 'Pet Sematary' located near their home. After... See full summary »

Directors: Kevin Kölsch, Dennis Widmyer | Stars: Jason Clarke, John Lithgow, Amy Seimetz, Naomi Frenette

This is a movie that I'm VERY excited to see, as it has good screenwriters and directors and an extremely talented cast. Don't forget the great source material.

10. Hellboy (2019)

Action, Adventure, Fantasy | Post-production

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Director: Neil Marshall | Stars: Milla Jovovich, David Harbour, Ian McShane, Sasha Lane

I am really worrying about this one. I wasn't a big fan of the original film, but I LOVED "Hellboy II: The Golden Army", due to Guillermo del Toro's direction and Ron Perlman's performance.

However, this one's supposed to be a darker, rated-R version. But why does the trailer make it look like it's supposed to be really fun? What the hell are you guys doing?

Anyway, David Harbour is a great choice for Hellboy, and I think he should be able to pull it off very well.

11. The Curse of La Llorona (2019)

R | Horror, Mystery, Thriller | Completed

Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm.

Director: Michael Chaves | Stars: Linda Cardellini, Patricia Velasquez, Raymond Cruz, Sean Patrick Thomas

This is a movie that looks pretty scary on its own right, but I hope this movie is successful because director Michael Chaves has been handed the reins for "The Conjuring 3". So here's hoping.

12. Under the Silver Lake (2018)

R | 139 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama

59 Metascore

Sam, intelligent but without purpose, finds a mysterious woman swimming in his apartment's pool one night. The next morning, she disappears. Sam sets off across LA to find her, and along the way he uncovers a conspiracy far more bizarre.

Director: David Robert Mitchell | Stars: Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough, Topher Grace, Callie Hernandez

Votes: 9,131

I thoroughly enjoyed "It Follows", and I hope this can be better.

13. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Action, Adventure, Fantasy | Post-production

Plot is unknown.

Directors: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo | Stars: Brie Larson, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Chris Hemsworth

Do I need to explain myself?

14. Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)

Animation, Adventure, Family | Post-production

In a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective.

Director: Rob Letterman | Stars: Suki Waterhouse, Ryan Reynolds, Kathryn Newton, Bill Nighy

Ryan friggin Reynolds.

15. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)

Action, Crime, Thriller | Post-production

Super-Assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin's guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head - he is the target of hit men and women everywhere.

Director: Chad Stahelski | Stars: Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Jason Mantzoukas, Ian McShane

He's thinking he's back... again... for the third time.

16. Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

PG-13 | Action, Adventure, Fantasy | Completed

The crypto-zoological agency Monarch faces off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.

Director: Michael Dougherty | Stars: Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford

While the first film was pretty good, I felt that it could have had better writing. Luckily, this film is helmed by veteran horror-comedy director Michael Dougherty, who directed cult-favorites "Trick R Treat" and "Krampus".

17. Rocketman (2019)

Biography, Drama, Fantasy | Post-production

A musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Elton John's breakthrough years.

Director: Dexter Fletcher | Stars: Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard, Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell

I like Elton John. I love Taron Egerton. I'm curious to see how this film will be a biographical musical fantasy film.

18. Brightburn (2019)

Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi | Post-production

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?

Director: David Yarovesky | Stars: Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Matt Jones, Meredith Hagner

James Gunn is a pretty great director who didn't deserve to be kicked off of Guardians 3. But at least he's producing this Superman-esque horror film.

19. Dark Phoenix (2019)

Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi | Post-production

Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world.

Director: Simon Kinberg | Stars: James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Sophie Turner

X-Men. However, this isn't the X-Men movie of 2019 that I'm the most excited for.

20. Men in Black: International (2019)

Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi | Post-production

The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.

Director: F. Gary Gray | Stars: Rebecca Ferguson, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Liam Neeson

As a fan of "Men in Black" (not so much the sequels), I'm very cautious about this movie.

But as far as I'm concerned, this movie has already done one thing right, and that was the casting of lead actors Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. They both proved in "Thor: Ragnarok" that they can play off of each other really well, and I hope the proves to be true in this film as well.

21. Toy Story 4 (2019)

Animation, Adventure, Comedy | Post-production

When a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy.

Director: Josh Cooley | Stars: Patricia Arquette, Keanu Reeves, Tom Hanks, Jordan Peele

Horror, Mystery, Thriller | Post-production

Third film in the 'Annabelle' franchise.

Director: Gary Dauberman | Stars: Patrick Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Vera Farmiga, Madison Iseman

A faded TV actor and his stunt double embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry during the Helter Skelter reign of terror in 1969 Los Angeles.

Director: Quentin Tarantino | Stars: Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Dakota Fanning
