The Hour of the Fastest Guns (Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in film)

by osloj | created - 15 Apr 2016 | updated - 11 Apr 2017 | Public

No gunfight in Western history is more known than the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (October 26, 1881, Tombstone, Arizona Territory, United States).

It was a feud between the "Cowboys" Ike and Billy Clanton, Billy Claiborne, Frank and Tom McLaury, and opposing lawmen lead by Tombstone Marshal Virgil Earp, Special Policeman Wyatt Earp, Special Policeman Morgan Earp and temporary policeman Doctor "Doc" Holliday.

The fight has become a legend representing a lost era in the American Old West.

It has been a longtime favorite of Western film lovers.

Included are films dealing with the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, Tombstone, Arizona Territory, Wyatt Earp, or Doc Holliday, etc.

Also included are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Billy the Kid (Henry McCarty; also known as William H. Bonney) who participated in New Mexico's Lincoln County War.
