What is the fate of Dr. Martin Brenner?

In one of the many memorable scenes in the "Stranger Things" Season 1 finale, the Demogorgon threw itself at Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and began to swallow Eleven's surrogate father and the head of Hawkins Lab. We know that Brenner will appear in Season 2, but will it be to satisfy fan appetities to see him fully meet his end? We could always pray that the Duffer Bros. would pay further tribute to David Cronenberg and see Brenner become one with the Demogorgon — even though "Rick and Morty" already covered that territory by creating a Cronenberg World version of Earth.
