Unintentionally Funnyby SavageOtterPaws | created - 14 Aug 2012 | updated - 15 Jun 2015 | Public
Some movies are just so bad or so over-the-top that they are funny, even though they weren't meant to be. This list DOES NOT include movies in which the humor is on purpose, even though they might not necessarily be comedies (e.g. 'The Evil Dead', 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space').

1. The Wicker Man (2006)
PG-13 | 102 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller
A sheriff investigating the disappearance of a young girl from a small island discovers there's a larger mystery to solve among the island's secretive, neo-pagan community.
Votes: 57,596 | Gross: $23.64M
How could a movie that is so dark and unsettling possibly be funny? Simple: by starring Nicholas Cage!
2. Troll 2 (1990)
PG-13 | 95 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror
A family vacationing in a small town discovers the entire town is inhabited by goblins in disguise as humans, who plan to eat them.
While not THE worst movie ever made, it is the movie that is most famous for being so awful it's funny.
3. Xanadu (1980)
PG | 96 min | Fantasy, Musical, Romance
A struggling artist living in Los Angeles meets a girl who may hold the key to his happiness.
Votes: 10,276 | Gross: $22.76M
So unintentionally campy that it even spawned a Broadway musical adaption that was purposely a spoof of itself.
4. Hobgoblins (1988)
R | 88 min | Comedy, Horror, Sci-Fi
A young security guard must track down diminutive aliens who kill people even as they make their fantasies come true.
There was a lot of raunchy teen comedy in the movie already, but that wasn't nearly as funny as how terrible their attempt at actual horror was.
5. This Island Earth (1955)
Approved | 86 min | Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Aliens come to Earth seeking scientists to help them in their war.
The aliens in this movie make those in 'Mars Attacks!' seem serious.
6. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
Not Rated | 81 min | Adventure, Comedy, Family
The Martians kidnap Santa Claus because there is nobody on Mars to give their children presents.
While humor is occasionally attempted, none of it is funny. The quality of the movie and futuristic "technology", however, is laughable to say the least.
7. Santa Claus (1959)
Unrated | 94 min | Comedy, Family, Fantasy
With the aid of Merlin, Santa Claus must defeat the evil machinations of the devil Pitch to ruin Xmas.
It's attempt at whimsy is just plain sad. It's premise is quite dark, even though it intends to be light-hearted. And parts of it are even a bit racist.
8. Battlefield Earth (2000)
PG-13 | 118 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
After enslavement and near extermination by an alien race in the year 3000, humanity begins to fight back.
Votes: 70,153 | Gross: $21.47M
9. Jack Frost (1997 Video)
R | 89 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Horror
After an accident that left murderer Jack Frost dead in genetic material the vengeful killer returns as a murderous snowman to exact his revenge on the man who sent him to be executed
10. Gamera vs. Guiron (1969)
Unrated | 80 min | Action, Adventure, Family
Aliens kidnap two children and take them to another planet for the purpose of getting knowledge from their brains, but Gamera follows and tries to rescue them.
All of the Gamera films are worthy of this list, but this one is probably the most laughable.
11. Judge Dredd (1995)
R | 96 min | Action, Crime, Sci-Fi
In a dystopian future, Joseph Dredd, the most famous Judge (a police officer with instant field judiciary powers), is convicted for a crime he did not commit and must face his murderous counterpart.
Votes: 98,021 | Gross: $34.69M
One of my favorite "so bad, it's good" pictures; the action is so overblown, the dialogue so hokey, the visual style so cartoonish, and the whole thing just so cliche-ridden, you can't deny the fact that this movie is a fun one to watch, as long as you take NONE of it seriously.
12. Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010)
Not Rated | 105 min | Horror, Romance, Thriller
A horde of mutated birds descends upon the quiet town of Half Moon Bay, California. With the death toll rising, Two citizens manage to fight back, but will they survive Birdemic?
Definitely up for the title of "worst film ever made", but like 'Troll 2', it's just so dang funny.
14. House of the Dead (2003)
R | 90 min | Action, Adventure, Horror
A group of college students travel to a mysterious island to attend a rave, which is soon taken over by bloodthirsty zombies.
Votes: 33,794 | Gross: $10.25M
15. Transmorphers (2007 Video)

Votes: 178,195 | Gross: $64.51M
Borders on dark slapstick
