1. Diff'rent Strokes (1978–1986)
TV-PG | 30 min | Comedy, Drama, Family
The misadventures of a wealthy Manhattan family who adopted the children of their late African American housekeeper from Harlem.
Gary Coleman, pretty good. The rest of the cast, dull.
2. Family (1976–1980)
60 min | Drama, Family
The joys and heartaches of the Lawrence family of Pasadena, California.
It says this show is about the joys and heartaches of a family, but it's really just everyone in the whole family whining nonstop about every little thing that happens to them. They never get to the joys.
3. Eight Is Enough (1977–1981)
60 min | Comedy, Drama, Family
This comedy drama focused on a family with eight very independent children.
Boring, even with eight kids.
4. Webster (1983–1989)
30 min | Comedy, Family
The post-retirement season is suddenly disrupted for football player George Papadapolis and his wife Katherine when Webster, the orphaned son of a former teammate, moves in. Laughter, and life lessons, in every episode.
Cute kid, but not a funny show. I think if you claim to be a sitcom, you need jokes. Funny ones.
5. Bosom Buddies (1980–1982)
30 min | Comedy
Two young single ad men must disguise themselves as women to live in the one apartment they can afford.
I think this could have been funnier with two different guys.
6. Matt Houston (1982–1985)
90 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery
Matt Houston is a wealthy Texan who moves to California to oversee his family's offshore drilling enterprises but spends most of his time dabbling in his private investigator hobby.
One of my least favorite TV cops ever.
7. Gomer Pyle: USMC (1964–1969)
30 min | Comedy, War
The misadventures of a bumbling U.S. Marine named Gomer Pyle.
Surprise, surprise, surprise! Gomer gets on your nerves after a few dozen episodes.
8. Remington Steele (1982–1987)
TV-PG | 60 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy
The cases of a female private detective partnered with a former thief who assumes the role of a fictitious detective in the business.
I just don't think the two lead characters were well matched.
9. Donny and Marie (1975–1979)
60 min | Music
Long running variety show, featuring the brother-sister singing duo of Donny and Marie Osmond. The first season also featured all of the Osmond families, but Donny and Marie were obviously ... See full summary »
This show was too perky and cheesy to survive long.

SO dumb and stupid.
11. My Favorite Martian (1963–1966)
30 min | Comedy, Family, Sci-Fi
A sarcastic Martian comes to live with a hapless young Terran on Earth.
Even compared to other series of its time, just a bit too boring.
12. Police Woman (1974–1978)
60 min | Action, Crime, Drama
Follows Sergeant "Pepper" Anderson, LAPD's top undercover cop. A member of the Criminal Conspiracy Unit, Pepper works the wild side of the street, where she poses as everything from a gangster's moll to a streetwalker to a prison inmate.
This one was ok but Cagney and Lacey was way better. This show needed better writing.
13. Gilligan's Island (1964–1992)
TV-G | 30 min | Comedy, Family
Seven men and women are stranded on an uncharted island following a torrential storm.
The premise was too corny to keep it going for very long.

Jackie and Sarah Rush are two grown sisters who live in half of a duplex. Their parents, Henry and Muriel, live in the other half. Though one might think this proximity may be fun, both ... See full summary »

I really hate soaps...

TV-14 | 44 min | Game-Show, Reality-TV
Contestants must compete against each other for a chance to win $500,000 in a house wired with cameras and microphones, capturing their every move for a TV and Internet audience.
Watching a bunch of people live in a house and stab each other in the back. Enough of that already, it's not interesting enough.
18. The Bachelorette (2003– )
60 min | Game-Show, Reality-TV, Romance
A single bachelorette dates multiple men over several weeks, narrowing them down to hopefully find her true love.
This is a crock, nobody ever gets together...
19. Silver Spoons (1982–1987)
30 min | Comedy, Family
Ricky Stratton is a spoiled rich kid who lives the life that many kids dream of, but he still suffers from the problems that many teens do.
I think most people over the age of 8 would not find this funny.
20. Mork & Mindy (1978–1982)
TV-G | 30 min | Comedy, Family, Sci-Fi
A wacky alien comes to Earth to study its residents and the life of the human woman he boards with is never the same.
Too dumb to live...
21. Desperate Housewives (2004–2012)
TV-14 | 45 min | Comedy, Drama, Mystery
Secrets and truths unfold through the lives of female friends in one suburban neighborhood, after the mysterious suicide of a neighbor.
Just another soap, and I hate soaps. But if you love soaps, probably great stuff. Some good actors were in this.
22. Lost (2004–2010)

The survivors of a plane crash are forced to work together in order to survive on a seemingly deserted tropical island.

24. The Wonder Years (1988–1993)
TV-PG | 22 min | Comedy, Drama, Family
Kevin Arnold recalls growing up during the late 60s and early 70s; the turbulent social times make the transition from child to adult unusually interesting.
Just not that funny and a little sad. Not great elements of a sitcom.

Hope and Michael are a married couple in their thirties, living in Philadelphia, and struggling with everyday adult angst. Michael runs an ad agency with his friend Elliot, whose marriage ... See full summary »

I hate soaps.
27. Falling Skies (2011–2015)
TV-14 | 42 min | Action, Adventure, Drama
Survivors of an alien attack on earth gather together to fight for their lives and fight back.
The aliens are gooey and oozy and drippy, ick. And how long can you keep this premise going? They never make any progress against the aliens.
28. H.R. Pufnstuf (1969–1970)
30 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy
The adventures of a boy trapped in a fantastic land with a dragon friend and a witch enemy.
Like a really bad acid trip.

TV-MA | 28 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama
When a suburban mother turns to dealing marijuana in order to maintain her privileged lifestyle after her husband dies, she finds out just how addicted her entire neighborhood already is.
I don't like the idea of a show that talks about pot this much. Nurse Jackie is WAY better.

31. Roseanne (1988–2018)
TV-PG | 21 min | Comedy, Drama
A revival of the popular 1990s sitcom 'Roseanne,' which centered on the everyday life of an American working-class family.
It started out funny and ended not funny. Toward the end there was a lot of fighting and sad stories and screaming. Although that fits well in a drama, this was supposed to be a sitcom.
32. Flashforward (2009–2010)

60 min | Reality-TV
A reality TV show featuring the life of Toddlers and Tiaras competitor Alana, A.K.A. 'Honey Boo Boo', and her overweight family, as they live every day.
Seriously? Life is WAY too short....
36. Hoarders (2009– )
TV-PG | 44 min | Documentary, Drama, Reality-TV
Follows different people on their hoarding issues.
To witness the life and home of a person who has fallen apart, I don't really see that as entertainment, it's more like voyeurism...a better thing to do would be to give some money to charities that provide help for people such as this. They need help and love, they don't need to be watched like a show.
37. Cops (1989– )

TV-PG | 60 min | Adventure, Game-Show, Reality-TV
A reality show where a group of contestants are stranded in a remote location with little more than the clothes on their back. The lone survivor of this contest takes home a million dollars.
This show started when my oldest child was two, and she now has a son of her own. It's just that I do not enjoy watching a lot of people lie to each other just to win money, and I don't think any show should be on the air SO long. It's exhausting.
