Excellent Movie with superb acting and a great story from writer Dennis Lehane. Ben Affleck's directing debut was a great success. Great acting from all characters and had a twisted plot ending like most of Lehane's stuff (Shutter Island, Mystic River). This should definetly be in IMDB's Top 250 as well. 9/10

The sequel was a huge disappointment but this one was a movie that was unlike no other. The perfect movie for all ages has some memorable villains a.k.a Dick Van Dyke, Bill Cobbs and Mickey Rooney and some humour with other fun characters such as Theodore Rosevelt, Sakagweea, Christopher Cloumbus and the dinosaur. I know it's not an academy award winner or anything but I can't stop loving this movie. 8/10

When I saw it in theatres I laughed my ass off the whole time. I thought it was humourous the whole time and I viewed it once again at home to see if it had the same effect on me twice. And yet it did. Perhaps the best family movie series of its time. Good fun! 8/10

Votes: 92,468 | Gross: $60.67M

Intense remake of "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972) has acting as good as the original in my opinion. The special effects are great in this film. Like Ebert says all the actors are professionals and there is nothing wrong with their performances. I believe there is nothing wrong with this whole movie. Totally underappreciated and underated. 8/10

WOW! Wasn't expecting much from this film directed by Ricky Gervais. But it is simply a great movie. It has the perfect balance of comedy, sadness and character development. I felt emotions for the characters which means when that happens the director is doing a phenomenal job. Check this out you won't be disappointed! 8/10

This film was very entertaining and had an interesting plot and several twists but not too many to keep me interested. Also had many good character actors shining in their roles, (Joe Pantoliano, Barry Pepper, Jim Caviezel, Greg Kinnear, etc.) 8/10

The acting, the cinematography, the story and the flow were all very well done. Michael Shannon deserves at least a nonimation for best actor as he is superb as the stone cold killer. Ray Liotta also puts on a good show something he hasn't done in a while. 8/10

Although I have not read the novel, as a stand alone film it was great. Paul Giamatti was snubbed without an Oscar nomination Rosamund Pike and Dustin Hoffman both have could have gotten a nomination as well. All around great acting and very sad ending make for a great film. 8/10

Philip Seymour Hoffman is in top form as an addicted gambler. His performance is perfect and the film as a whole portrays gambling as it really is. Not glorious and that one can get deeper and deeper until they are at rock bottom. John Hurt also plays a casino owner with expertise. 8/10

Neil Blomkamp does it again! Emotionally driven with great acting from two new unknown actors. Co-driven by strong performances by Hugh, Sigourney, Dev and Sharlto. Great Science Fiction film and one of the best of the year in my opinion.

24. Dolores Claiborne (1995)
