1. Blue Mountain State (2010–2011)

On 2/24/12, MTV decided to officially cancel the freshman series after finishing its 12-episode run in Dec. 2011.
3. All-American Muslim (2011– )

On 3/7/12, TLC cancelled the reality series after one season, which finished its 8-episode run in Dec. 2011.
4. Skins (2007–2013)

The story of a group of British teens who are trying to grow up and find love and happiness despite questionable parenting and teachers who more want to be friends (and lovers) rather than authority figures.
On 3/7/12, the UK’s E4 network announced season 7 of the hit drama would be the last. BBC America had played previous seasons of the series in the states, but not any longer. Maybe this will get them to air it again. Whatever the case, the final season is expected to air in early 2013 with an official ending.
5. Luck (2011–2012)

A TV series centered around characters who are tied to the same horse-racing track.
On 3/14/12, HBO officially announced the drama's cancellation. Due to the fact that three horses have died on the set (and low ratings making things worse) production was shut down during the second episode for the second season. There are still 2 episodes left to air of the first season and the finale will air on March 25th, 2012, though things may be left up in the air.
6. The Rosie Show (2011– )

Nightly talk-show hosted by Rosie O'Donnell.
On 3/16/12, OWN officially cancelled the daily Rosie O’Donnell-hosted talk show. Production will stop after the final episode films on March 20th; it will air March 30th. It was on the air for just five months.
7. Teen Mom (2009– )

A documentary series that follows four of 16 & Pregnant's first season stars, Farrah, Maci, Amber and Catelynn as they face the challenges of motherhood.
On 3/18/12, MTV announced the 4th season of the original and controversial reality series will be the last. Unfortunately, this comes a few weeks after a "Teen Mom 3" announcement with a whole new cast to join "Teen Mom 2" which recently finished its second season. The last season is supposedly airing sometime soon, possibly summer 2012.
8. Damages (2007–2012)

On 4/18/12, DirecTV announced the award-winning drama would end with its upcoming fifth season. The series was previously cancelled by FX after season three due to poor ratings and budget issues, but DirecTV saved it for 2 more seasons. The final season is expected to begin July 11th, 2012.
9. Ca$h Cab (2005– )

Contestants unknowingly climb into a cab and try to win money by answering questions correctly on the way to their desired location.
On 4/20/12, Discovery Channel confirmed the series of seven years was cancelled.
10. The Life & Times of Tim (2008–2012)

Watch as Tim finds himself in several awkward situations in this HBO cartoon comedy.
On 4/21/12, HBO cancelled the struggling animated series for a second time, and it looks like it will stay cancelled for good. They previously cancelled the series in 2010, but soon after reversed the cancellation and ordered a third season of 10 episodes. They began airing in mid-December 2011, finishing on February 17th, 2012, drawing in very poor ratings.
11. Make It or Break It (2009–2012)

Follows a group of teen Olympic hopefuls as they train and prepare for their day in the spotlight.
On 4/23/12, the creator of the ABC Family series confirmed the current third season of the series would be its last. Along with ABC Family promoting the series finale. Just 8 episodes, the series finale will coincide with the 2012 Summer Olympics, with one of the characters getting to go with the U.S. Team. It is scheduled to air on May 14th, 2012.
On 4/24/12, TLC decided to abort the reality series about stay-at-home, 30-something, "mama's boys" due to horrible ratings after a few episodes. Despite back-lash from cast members and viewers, TLC will probably leave this one in the waste bin and walk away.
13. Flashpoint (2008–2012)

The missions and trials of a Toronto police tactical unit.
On 5/2/12, the producers of 'Flashpoint' announced the upcoming fifth season would be the last. There is no word of when the final season will air, possibly this summer. The series originated from Canada's CTV and aired in the US for several seasons on CBS, later moving to the ION Network.
14. Breakout Kings (2011–2012)

A squad of U.S. marshals team up with cons (former fugitives) to work together on tracking down prison escapees in exchange for getting time off their sentences.
On 5/17/12, A&E cancelled their scripted series after 2 seasons. The series had mediocre ratings, but lack of marketing and airing during an odd time of the year without a companion series are definite contributors. The second season finished airing on April 29th, 2012.
15. I Just Want My Pants Back (2012– )
30 min | Comedy, Drama
A group of 20-somethings living in New York City navigate work and relationships.
On 5/17/12, MTV decided not to renew its critically-acclaimed series for a second season. This is not a surprise because MTV has been trying to launch late-night comedies since 2010, hoping viewers from Teen Mom would tune in. There is some slight hope though; the series is supposedly being “shopped around” to other networks. The season one finale was April 5th, 2012.
16. iCarly (2007–2012)

Carly hosts her own home-grown web show, iCarly, Carly and sidekick Sam's regular Web casts ultimately feature everything from comedy sketches and talent contests to interviews, recipes, and problem-solving.
On 5/17/12, Nickelodeon announced their long-running series will finally be coming to a close. The last episode is expected to air sometime in November 2012.
17. Dog the Bounty Hunter (2003–2012)

On 5/21/12, A&E confirmed the reality series was cancelled. It ran for eight seasons and there are many reasons to why the series is ending, between Dog’s real-life drama and the series being sued. Let’s just say, “everything needs to end at some point” and move on.
18. Sanctuary (2008–2011)

Stem cells, gene therapy, transplants, and cloning have changed the definition of "humanity" in the modern world, but the darker side contains monsters that only few are brave enough to face, because the future lies in their hands.
On 5/21/12, Syfy announced the series would not be coming back for a fifth season. The fourth season finished up in December 2011, and there had been zero word on a pickup until now. Apparently many things were left hanging and there is definitely a huge uproar from fans and even cast members. Syfy (Sci-Fi) has never been too smart when it comes to shows that heavily deal with the hardcore science-fiction genre. It’s no secret that they have abruptly cancelled several other series in the past, but Sanctuary is the longest-running series they have cancelled without an official ending.
19. Spartacus: War of the Damned (2010–2013)

On 6/4/12, Starz announced their hit series would conclude with a third season, entitled “War of the Damned.” The decision comes as a shock and apparently was a “difficult” one amongst everyone. As the CEO of Starz (Christ Albrecht) put it, “Spartacus is a landmark series for the network which has enthralled millions of viewers and fans around the world. We are in agreement with our partners in the decision to conclude the story after War Of The Damned, as we believe it is the best way to maintain the integrity of the series and secure its legacy.” The final season is now entering production and is expected to begin airing in January 2013, with an official ending.
20. Weeds (2005–2012)

When a suburban mother turns to dealing marijuana in order to maintain her privileged lifestyle after her husband dies, she finds out just how addicted her entire neighborhood already is.
On 6/13/12, Showtime announced its longest running comedy would be coming to a close after the upcoming season 8. The series was on the bubble last year, but was renewed for a 13-episode season. It will be an official close to the series to give fans some closure. The final season begins July 1st, 2012.
21. The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (2010–2012)

After 74 villains break out of prison, Marvel's most powerful superheroes team up to capture all of them, and also to defend the Earth from widespread threats.
On 6/19/12, Disney XD decided to cancel the animated series shortly into season 2 airing in the US. 8 out of 26 episodes have currently aired, and it looks like an official finale was already planned, but it was not too clear. There will be a new animated series coming in 2013 based off of the recent live-action movie 'The Avengers,' simply titled 'Marvel’s Avengers Assemble.'
22. The Big C (2010–2013)

A suburban mother faces her cancer diagnosis while trying to find humor and happiness as well.
On 7/30/12, Showtime announced the upcoming fourth season of the series would be its last. The season will only be four episodes that are 1-hour each as opposed to the regular half-hour format. Based on the poor ratings, the series and fans are pretty luck it gets to have an official ending. No word of when the season will begin, but it’s likely to be sometime in 2013.
23. Victorious (2010–2013)

Aspiring singer Tori Vega navigates life while attending a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts.
On 7/10/12, Nickelodeon decided not to order a fourth season of the pop-star series. As the creator of the series pointed out, most shows on the network only last around 60 episodes. There are still 15 new episodes left to air of the series before it is completely over.
24. Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (2005– )

On 8/6/12, The Travel Channel announced the upcoming eighth season would be its last. The season is 18 episodes and begins Sept. 3rd at 9pm (ET). source
25. Gene Simmons: Family Jewels (2006– )
A look at the family life of rock star and Kiss front man, Gene Simmons.
On 8/15/12, A&E decided to cancel the long-running reality series after seven seasons. It first launched in 2006 and was an instant hit, but they have new reality and scripted hits on their hands to make room for. Just in May, they cancelled their other long-running reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, after eight seasons.
26. Jane by Design (2012)

A case of mistaken identity has a dateless high school outsider living a double life as a twenty-something career girl in the fashion world.
On 8/17/12, ABC Family decided to cancel the struggling freshman series. It launched in January with much hype and then was given an additional 8 episodes for the summer months. Unfortunately, after the season finale in July, the overall ratings for season one averaged it as the lowest rated series on ABC Family.
27. How to Rock (2012)

On 8/27/12, Nickelodeon decided to cancel their live-action series after one season of 26 episodes. There are 9 episodes left with a new episode scheduled to air on September 22nd and then a Holiday Special airing December 8th which will be the last new episode.
28. Jersey Shore (2009–2012)

A reality-based look at the vapid lives of several New Jersey 20-somethings and their respective friends and/or hook-ups.
On 8/30/12, MTV confirmed the upcoming sixth season would be the last. The series began in late 2009 and despite the controversy, it became an instant hit. But, ratings have been in a decline now and the series has course. A retrospective “Gym, Tan, Look Back” is planned to air Sept. 6th @6pm (ET) before the VMAs. The final season begins Thurs. Oct. 4 @10pm.
29. The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–2013)

On 11/2/12, USA announced they would not be continuing the series for a second run. Though it was always intended to be a 6-part miniseries, a second season was made possible due to critical acclaim and decent ratings (along with contractual obligations). So while this is not technically a “cancellation” in the sense that it was abruptly ended, a very possible chance of a continuation to the story was cancelled. source

On 11/28/12, MTV cancelled their low-rated comedy based on a UK series of the same name. This joins a group of half-hour comedies cancelled by MTV in just a few years (Hard Times of RJ Berger, Death Valley, I Just Want My Pants Back, etc…). With so many comedies in the trash, you would think MTV might realize shows need better marketing and placement (something even Deadline.com pointed out). It had a total of 12 episodes which finished airing Nov. 5th, 2012. source

On 12/3/12, Bell Media (Canada) cancelled the low-rated drama after 2 seasons and 19 episodes. It aired here in the sates on The CW to the lowest ratings seen by the network, but was kept around due to an increase in online viewership and licensing being cheaper than producing. There is a possibility The CW or even another Canadian network may decide to take over the series and produce it, but that probably will not happen.
UPDATE: On 12/20/12, The CW decided not to produce a third season of the already cancelled series. Due to very poor ratings, the cost to produce it (compared to just licensing episodes to air) would have been financially irresponsible. source

On 12/13/12, TV Land decided to cancel the sitcom after two seasons of 10 episodes. It’s not surprise though, ’35 had many creative issues and changes between seasons and was unable to hold onto any of its ‘Hot In Cleveland ratings.’ This marks the first cancellation for a TV Land original series. source
