Rapunzel is very upset when she finds out her father lied about the Black Rocks and later has a dream where King Frederic apologizes and they have a father-daughter dance, but are interrupted when the Black Rocks spring from the ground and grow all over the room. As the rocks rapidly multiply, Varian appears and tells her to face her destiny. After waking up, she goes to a boat by the dock to contemplate the dream and get some fresh air. To her surprise, she sees Varian and his pet raccoon, Rudiger there. Varian shows her a scroll which says what the rocks are made of in an archaic language and says that the Sundrop Flower, the flower that healed Queen Arianna when Rapunzel was a baby, could help stop the rocks from growing and, determined to stop the rocks, Varian devises a dishonorable plan to get it.
